Mate was out on the ale today with a few rs supporters and they towed the line that to ban the clubs would only punish the fans and the people who work for the club. When I pointed out that many a fan base have suffered from the action of the club ,they would not except that. When I pointed out heysel, or the punishments handed to Bury, Bolton Sheffield Wednesday they just said that was different and not the same, they won’t except they have done anything wrong.
That’s because the fans are as arrogant as the club, make them pay.

Hmmmmmm this sounds familiar.
How so mate? Let's just do our talking on the pitch. I've only ever seen us win one thing and that was 26 years ago. Righteous statements are fine but without anything to back it up it can sound hollow (not saying it is) and we're just furthering the "bitter" accusations. Just my two cents in peace.

Don't disagree with anything you said there mate. Best is do our talking on the pitch, become more successful and lead the discussion from that position. Well at least your boy Boris is fighting it. Not sure how true but the EU are apparently huge fans of the superleague.
Your naivety is charming but chilling.

It's the entire point would never really had mattered what we did on the pitch ever again.

Fee fi fo fum?

So first "its Everton can't pontificate and take a moral stand because we would have signed up immediately"

Then its a shout about the bitters.

This script is really familiar and I can't put my finger on where I've read things like this.

The pitch is not important right now though is it. For me anyway it’s secondary.
Talking of bitter, the RS might see the pitch as more important and they may have more trophies, but they will never, ever, have our class and dignity.
Your passive aggressive statements won’t wash

One of the main reasons we haven’t won anything over that period is the consolidation of power we’ve seen due to the money received from the CL. And this would have consolidated that power further.

I wish people would understand that point. The money didn’t come because of the success. They were able to succeed because of the money.

If we were invited and declined the invitation to the superleague then the "classy Everton" shouts make sense. We weren't invited. Our pontificating may be seen as coming from a place of bitterness rather than righteousness.
No. Let's do our talking on the pitch. Something we haven't done in awhile.

We weren't invited because it was created by a gang of devious, greedy knobheads who didn't want anyone within a sniff of ever giving these clubs a bit of competition a chance.

Let's not just do our talking on the pitch, let's call the clubs out for what they are and make sure everyone in football knows that we believe its unacceptable.

Anyone that thinks Moshiri, a man who recently left Arsenal as he couldn’t grab enough power, would have turned this down...I’ve got a bridge to sell you (never tire of using that line).

The club statement is a good one bar the reference to “six clubs”. It ain’t six clubs, it’s six owners, and Mosh would have been number 7 had the invite come through the letterbox of L4. Owners ain’t the clubs. This ain’t US sports where the owner is king and can move THEIR team wherever they want (which this league would have threatened), and are the first to pick up the trophy the bleedin manager and players won. The unanimous fan backlash that brought down this super duper league further emphasised this. Fans, followed by manager/players in distant second, are the club. The club statement “custodians” in reference to the owners is correct, that’s all they are. Their remit while at a club is “don’t feck it up” before you hand it over to the next custodian, that’s it.

I'm still waiting too see what happens, if no punishments happen, I still am not sure I will continue watching football.
Who do you want punishing?
