F1 2024 (and other motorsport) thread

The Red Bull is still the best car in a straight line, if their overall pace and tyre deg is decent he shouldn't have too much trouble making his way towards the podium.
I think he'll make his way towards the front, yet like the previous races where he's raced to the front will be more difficult due to a resurgent McLaren and Mercedes

I think it's brilliant how people can have such neurodiversity to be able to recall this kind of information so easily - it's a talent.

I have an acquittance who can pretty much tell you every scoreline to every Everton game he's been to (and there's been a LOT!), the attendance and scorers.

Some days, I struggle to remember what I had for breakfast, let alone that kind of detail. Bravo!

I think this is all but set. They’ve done it the last two years because Spa is easier to overtake at. They don’t have the advantage this year where they can get away with it I don’t think. He will pick off Alpine and Haas or whatever but even that DRS isn’t going to make it easy to get the rest.

I can see him getting the Ferrari's quite easily. Will poss/prob get the Mercs too still. Paddypower have him 1.83 to make the podium, ahead of George and Lewis.

It's incredible. I love the way he just casually drops in the other guys time as well. Amazing the things the brain is capable of.

Might be worth putting some money on a Verstappen win from 11th based on FP1

7 tenths quicker than McLaren on the same tyre and they haven’t even fitted the new engine yet.

Looks like the downgrade has helped them

When I was younger, there was a boy with what we would now diagnose as ASD, He struggled with a lot of social norms in school and became very isolated.

But I remember clear as day, his ability to get a completed 500+ piece jigsaw, turn it upside down, throw it into a mass of pieces and perfectly reassemble it.

How the fluff' he could track their movement and recognise their shape etc., when all he could see was the brown reverse still baffles my mind.

He went on to do physics to a high-level, which didn't surprise me in the slightest.

Max in class of one this weekend, a chunk of that is the new engine but he's also a total boss here, hopefully, some madness will happen in Q3 to switch things up.

This?

That was one moment but a lap or two before he was trying ridiculously ambitious overtakes in lots of unusual places. Also his drive in Hungary the other week where he overtook 4 cars In about 2 laps to win. He didn't look ready for F1 earlier in the season but he's shown some glimpses of a quite special talent in recent weeks, he's always very quick in the wet as well.

I think it's obvious that Maxwell House will carve through the field in no time.

Maybe even opting for the soft tires and pitting early as it's set to be a dry race?

If Checo can get into first then Verstappen has a great chance as Red Bull will have control of the race.

I'll predict the above and Verstappen getting a podium but not winning.

Would love another Piastri victory, my new favourite driver on the grid.
