Fabian Delph

WE should use him as a tactical sub for DVB in games like the Burnley game where we need control not skill or enthusiasm. If he can only play once in 10 games is that the same as playing 10% of all games?

When he did a slide tackle in the box did anyone else have their heart in their mouth for a split second
Tbf I had my heart in my mouth for the whole match. I watched it at home, on my phone on the dashboard of my car, pulled over and watched it on my lap, then watched a few minutes walking up the road then in a bar. Couldn't really keep still.

Spot on re: Burnley game - that's totally we where lost things.

Trouble is doesn't see Delph can do Weds/Sat - but that was absolutely the influence we lacked 2nd half vs Burnley.

I've said before, Delph is a neat tidy midfielder who is excellent in the holding role just in front of the centre backs, he steps back seamlessly to cover when one of the centre backs is caught out of position and always makes himself available to them for a pass when they have the ball.

Now, all that sounds great, but, he hardly ever plays, he is just not physically up to this league any more. I hope we can get a few good performances out of him between now and the end of the season and that he helps us avoid relegation, but, I've seen a couple of posters on here saying give him a one year extension. Just no, he has been a terrible signing and when you consider his transfer fee and his wages and take into account how few games he has played. What a waste of money.

9 days till our next game, I would be shocked if he doesnt get injured in that time.

However as I've said before, if he manages by some act of God to stay fit and perform until the end of the season it will cause the miracle of miracles for him to leave fondly remembered by Everton fans. (Within reason).

He's got 9 days now so could even be managed with light training. Or light light training with Yerald to try and keep him fresh.

No way he manages the 2 games in 4 days though so Fronk has a decision to make whether he thinks it better to primarily use him against Leicester or RS.

I've weighed this up in my mind and I say if he's fit, play him. No point in trying to save his fitness because he will spontaneously combust on the training pitch anyway.

To be fair, he would probably be ok for The Foxes game, unless if happens what you say, and been Delph there is always a good chance, but he even said though he was jokingly saying it that he would take a week odd to recover or to not train (forgot which way he went with), but he was probably telling the truth about the week odd, if he stays fit he will probably only play 1 game every few weeks

He said in the interview straight after the game that he wouldn't be training for a few days lol reckon that was pre-determined anyway. He's obviously got a long-term problem with that hammy.
