Factory reset (Forest fan)

In terms of longstanding history, Bournemouth and Everton aren't even in the same league. Bournemouth are just an example of a club that seem to be managed efficiently both on and off the pitch and have survived relegation to bounce back stronger. Bournemouth are likely to finish higher than Everton and Forest this season. I know they get criticised a lot for being a small club, but they're an annoyingly difficult club to beat and seem to have cemented themselves into that 12th/13th position.

If you watched 87 minutes of the match yesterday you wouldn't be thinking Bournemouth would finish ahead of Everton. Everton completely dominated and then capitulated on the 87 minute mark. And had it not been for that premier league record capitulation then Everton would be ahead of Bournemouth already. Secondly, without the deduction Everton finished ahead of Bournemouth last season.

I think this post is just knee jerk because you've seen a result. I'll tell you this now, if Moyes comes in Everton will finish comfortable mid table as despite the poor start there was a lot of encouragement from the new signings yesterday. I fear with Dyche he's lost some of the fans and I'm starting to think he's losing his grip a bit.

Honestly it's pathetic behaviour going on other fans forums and posting like this. Why do you think we care what a Forest/Leeds whatever fan think of us?

It would be pathetic behaviour if I was to come on here and give an opinion on Everton Football Club, as I would rightly receive short shrift. However, I don't see anything wrong with asking whether relegation would allow a great club to bounce back and return to some form of glory. Newcastle and Villa have been relegated and are now in great positions, the consensus from Everton fans appears to be that this wouldn't work... it's good to get insights from other football fans. If its the case that football is so tribal, other football fans can't have a conversation on here, then so be it.

Do you think a Moyes return could happen? Would he come back? Seems like it would be a good fit

Newcastle and Villa are in great positions because they have better infrastructures than Everton which results in better decisions. Both were already in the Premier League before they got their act together.

Relegation doesn’t guarantee the necessary reset required. What is required is a change of leadership that can deliver competence and foresight across the whole club and that can be achieved with the right people whilst remaining in the Premier League .

Forest fan in peace... Is there an argument that relegation might be a good thing for Everton?

There are a few teams who have been down in the Championship and have bounced back to a position of strength, I think Villa spent a couple of seasons down there and they've rebuilt. Even if you didn't bounce back immediately, you're bound to be challenging for the top 6 and you'd think you could get promoted in 2/3 seasons. Winning games, good away days, no VAR and reconnecting with the fans in a new era with a new stadium might work in the Championship... Thoughts??
No thanks but thanks for posting.

Not at all, we'd crumble financially....

We have one high value asset, the rest we'd struggle to give away due to high wages, especially as we'd have no relegation clauses in place

*bookmarks to bump when Forest go down the season they sell Gibbs White.

It would be a nightmare if Forest were to go down in the next couple of seasons, because we've only just come back up. Different situation with Everton, as you've got the long standing history in the top flight and it might be the case that you could return to glory having reset the system. On your specific point on Gibbs White, Forest are building away from him - Ramón Sosa, Jota Silva are unheard names but have done well in midfield this season and now the James Ward Prowse signing is likely to help us become less dependent on Gibbs White.

I'd misjudged the financial impact of relegation. The teams that have come up are going to struggle, so tbh you'll be fine this season. I get the impression that the annoyance from Everton fans is directed at the ownership.
