Factory reset (Forest fan)

What am I meant to put... I'm not coming with any 'hate'. A football fan engaging in football opinions... is football so tribal, that this can't happen?
There are good people on here that support other clubs and have stayed on. I welcome it.

You come here asking would relegation be good for us? Within 24 hours of one of the most shameful defeats we've had in recent memory?

Relegation is utter catastrophe. Anyone who has taken two minutes to inform themselves knows that. You know it. You're poking the bear.

You absolute whopper.

Forest fan in peace... Is there an argument that relegation might be a good thing for Everton?

There are a few teams who have been down in the Championship and have bounced back to a position of strength, I think Villa spent a couple of seasons down there and they've rebuilt. Even if you didn't bounce back immediately, you're bound to be challenging for the top 6 and you'd think you could get promoted in 2/3 seasons. Winning games, good away days, no VAR and reconnecting with the fans in a new era with a new stadium might work in the Championship... Thoughts??
Not much point claiming to be posting here "in peace" and then flinging such an aggravating pile of poop into the mix.

Some would call it obvious wumming. Hope you get banned for it.

…no.

Everton has a proud record of top flight football and it’s important we continue that trend, especially with a new stadium and owner on the horizon.
I used to agree. Not any more.

The fans are being made idiots of. For the last three seasons, we were told we had to hold on to our top-flight status at all costs so that things could get better when we were taken over. How many failed takeovers is it now as we continue to be used as a money laundering vehicle?

Holding on for holding on is our new mantra. That's the standard now.

At least if we went down, we'd actually have to win games consistently to get back up - and so create a new winning culture rather than relying on finishing 17th and surviving on last-day victories.

Staying up to be humiliated in the new innovative way we were humiliated yesterday is nothing to stay up for. The club needs a cultural reset where the bare minimum is no longer enough. If Everton cannot be a top-half side with hopes of winning cups and qualifying for Europe, well, we might as well cease to exist. So relegation is nothing to fear when we are already dead.

This is from a fellow Everton fan below; I'm interested in the debate. Hold my hands up and admit that the timing was misjudged, but my thinking was that yesterday seemed to be rock bottom for most Everton fans and my point is that rock bottom could lead to light at the end of the tunnel.

You're not going to get relegated; it's going to be one of those seasons where the 3 Championship teams are going to go straight back down. However, clubs have sometimes benefited from being relegated and having a cultural reset; it didn't work with Forest, but it did with Villa.
