Is right, where ever this season takes we must stick with Lampard throughout his contract . If people start turning on him we will just be back to square one.
Our current problems are down to Moshiri and the last 6 years of recruitment both of players and managers has been a disaster.
Agree cept its longer than 6 years. More money came in but the nonsensical recruitment stayed the same

He was useless under Ancelotti too.
Let’s be honest we all knew as fans that he was better at getting forward and providing crosses than his defensive duties, first thing Benitez asks him to do is defend more and not attack, talk about being out of touch.

Mate why are you even entertaining this stuff from Twitter? His next tweet is saying bring back Benitez, obviously a WUM, just ignore, most of social media is full of idiots.
This.
Hello very much

I’ve never been one to blame the fans for us being currently crap, and certainly not those in the ground.

I’ve always been sympathetic to those who boo at the end of a half.

However I can’t help but thinking this sort of stuff really doesn’t help anyone’s frame of mind;

I mean, he says he’s joking once pulled up but when I said a few weeks ago that once a manager loses his 100% record he’s done for I think I was closer to the bone than even I thought.

We have become the poisoned chalice we always feared and I can’t help think it’s in part down to this.

Its Twitter - apply the 'Chinatown Rule' - Forget it.

If all those of a certain age got their heads out of twitter, well it wouldn't be the end of the world.

The fans create the mood music of the club and the players react to that.

There was an ill-feeling through the period he was here. The calculation by those seeking to destabilise Benitez was that attacking the players would do that job for them - and there were many attacks on those players. Some of the away games they were petrified to go over to the away section. They are not a bunch of players to deal with that either. The fans knew the players knew their only hope of getting support was with Benitez gone. They didn't put it in and he was gone. The only trouble was, the decision was made later than those fans had anticipated ...and it left us vulnerable to free-fall under a new manager....which is what's happened.

If we do get out of this mess I can only hope that lessons are learned and we never have that sort of selfish and self destructive behaviour ever again.
Fans attacked our players to destabalise Benitez. Players were petrified to go over to the away section. What absolute nonsense.

How many of our supporters do you think aren't real Evertonians?

Our away support is absolutely solid and they are all blue to the bone and are renowned right across football for it.

Our 'fans' have been through the mill since 98. False dawns, seeing others do well, consistently. The 'good times' of occassional passport use and the odd Wembley visit (cheers Bill ????) The influx of money 'spaffed up the wall', stadiums a go-go, Wyness, Pip Green, Samuelson, Gravy-boy, El Gordo...jeez we've lived some absolute gash.
In the past when times got tough, we pulled the team and the club through. Not sure if we have the fight left in us to do it again. There's a resignation, or acceptance, that 'it was going to happen some day' and we'll have to look to where it went bad. There's many possible 'things' to point out, but there is one constant through all of this.
A shyster, snake oil salesman, who divided this support and it never healed. We've never been a united support since DK, and fractured further so many times since.
We really need a new identity. We have to stop being 'Bill's Everton'.
For sure, and plenty more in kind.
One thing that doesn't get mentioned much if at all these days is Rooney to Manu.
A statement by Bill that we are no longer a big club. Never should have happened, Madrid, Bayern, Celtic, who cares, just not the PL pets. It was a betrayal and a concession of defeat that still lurks in the soul today.
Maybe Bill just didn't have a clue of the history he was standing on, ie the inevitable division between the elite and the others. In that he handed Everton on a platter.

Lampard for me is one of the ways forward. 'Bill's Everton is not.

Thankfully Everton fans, as we all know, are certainly not thin skinned insecure messes and can handle a little critique without sounding like a smited teenager, mate.
Mate, it's a poor and pointless thread, simple as. If you want to insult me because I called it so, well that's just great coming from someone who spends half his life trying to wind up fellow blues ?

Say what you like, this is a poor thread. If you weren't a mod it'd have been deleted before it reached its second page.

If this is the hill you want to die on please feel free.

FFS Kev!

I didn’t say it was about you Kev but you seem to recognise and react to some of those characteristics I highlighted, which is peculiar.

There seems to be a link between feeling entitled to abuse players but being very sensitive of criticism towards self. An ego can be a troubling thing.

How did you get all that from me saying it was a crap thread starter?

...is that a joke?

He was asked and refused...
