Its genuinely unbelievable what is being said on this thread. This isn't a computer game where you buy a player within 2 days, its real life, it takes time to pick a player that our squad needs. Stones doesn't want to be here, he is now gone for 50 mil! there even people blaming Kenwright for some stupid reason, its got nothing to do with him, you need to move on and start blaming someone else for your ridiculous reasons why your pissed off all the time but its not Bill.

How quickly are players signed on deadline day?

But that's panic deals and medicals and things done at a later date it's just registration to the fa I think

If you get a brilliant job offer from somewhere and need to be there the same day....you go there.

Same in football, if we offered a player a huge contract, in their eyes....but they had to come the same day then they would

We just arent able to attract players which usually is down to the manager and his vision

Too many agendas at play. If nothing improves before the end of the window lots of you clappers will claim it's been a superb window regardless.

Some on here need a career change to politics after how theyve spun the stones sale. It's weird times.

We certainly have a lot of experts on here all of a sudden who think Begovic and Bolasie are 2 of the best in the league ...

It's not always the case mate. Location some players prefer London etc , wages some offer more , so it's not just the manager

so you genuinely believe a manger wakes up in the morning, goes about his business and then an hour to go of the transfer window they say "I want him", then they agree a fee with the club, fly the player to a ground, agree terms of a contract, have a medical and then are signed? no. it will take a number of days/weeks to sign a player.

The manager was able to attract players at Southampton. I don't know why we have found it so hard bringing in players but I doubt it's Koeman.

Our issues are simple. We have finished 11th twice. Have no European football. Our top player is unsettled (another has been sold). We look, to most modern mercenary players, to be little different to Stoke, West Ham, Watford etc.

We also have a new owner & manager - a double-edged sword as it can be a reason for optimism but it is also a source of uncertainty and risk.

Sometimes you just need to find that one influential player who for whatever reason (normally £, sometimes a personal relationship with the manager) is prepared to take the risk.

We haven't found that player. Yet. It is harsh in the extreme to pin that on Koeman.

Why do you doubt it's Koeman?
Most people from fans to pundits seem to think highly of him and he has outperformed with Southampton in the last couple of years.

He's not Guardiola and he won't bring top players who "want to play the right way" like people said Martinez attracted (when the reality is he didn't) but he's a very competent manager that I think players would respect.

The only thing if I'm to play devil's advocate would be the rumors of him falling out with players but that happens to all managers. Personally I would have brought in De Boer. I thought he could have taken Martinez's team and rather than rebuild it instead fix it but the board obviously wanted to go a different route.

The frail state El Fraudo left the squad in, it was probably deemed too risky to appoint a 'green' PL manager

I agree. I think that's exactly what happened. It looks like the board want to get back to the Moyes days rather than the rollercoaster we were on with Martinez which while ultimately a bit of a disaster he did get us 5th, a record points total, a European QF and two semi-finals all in 3 years. That's almost as good as Moyes did in over a decade.

I just think it's a shame we lost our nerve when in my view the right man for the job was available and was dying to come. It will be very interesting what FDB does at Inter.
