The worst thing about the Echo is the podcasts are actually pretty decent - but the stuff the journos commit to print seems often to be so heavily steered by the club or worse, just grossly inaccurate.

Weird that when you think that most of them must have grown absolutely desperate to land their dream job and have subsequently done so
Yeah I like the podcasts too. They're sound enough. Maybe it's how they're ran rather than the lids doing the Everton stuff.

Dave, you know the Echo is poor where Everton are concerned, nothing but an RS rag now.

aye, pretty much...just looking at the amount of reader comments for RS vs Everton articles also shows most of their readers are red too (same colour scheme as the rag).

How they inflitrated the media will become a future subject of study at universities.

Propaganda in the media: how to further aims and denigrate rivals

Case studies: Stalinism, Fox News, Liverpool FC.

Things remain positive for now but I think that would change if they sold Lukaku. If Lukaku was sold, the fans would start to question whether the early optimism/ excitement was unfounded. Even under the dark transfer windows of the past, the club wouldn't go as far as selling two of its best players in one window. Rather than spending £100 million of Moshiri's cash, the club would proabably be making the biggest transfer profit in the league. For the optimisim of the season and new regime moving forward, Lukaku just cannot be sold.

The sale of Lukaku would make no sense. With the Stones money, Moshiri's alleged funds and the TV deal, we have more money than we need. In the past we have sold players to fund incomings. We wouldn't be able to replace Lukaku's quality and having seen our struggles at attracting top quality players, I have doubts as to whether all of the funds would be reinvested.
...but it'd make space for higher wages for incoming players and that's the way we progress...apparently.

We have sold Stones and while we will probably increase our wage bill it won't be by the 40m profit we have made of him so therefore there's no need to sell Rom.

In fact selling him this summer prevents us from increasing the wage bill next summer by selling him then.

Which means if we sell Rom this window Moshiri has absolutely no intention of investing in the squad for better players in the future and will probably just use STCC as an excuse.

One way or another we will know Moshiri's true intentions for the club by the end of the window.

How can you fully judge is ownership of the club in one window? That's ridiculous

You know that something's sticking out like a sore thumb when even the dozy hacks at the Echo start calling for Moshiri to go public with his plans
Fact of the matter is that since BK is no longer in charge the Red Echo hasn't a clue what's going on. I love that. As was said earlier where were they when they should have been asking questions of Kenwright? Not bothered what we hear or when, just so long as we improve and clear up the mess of the last 20 years of mismanagement.

According to that article Moshiri hasn't said (or even written) anything publicly since March. Other than Bill our other main shareholders never said anything either, looking at other clubs I suppose it's normal for most main shareholders to not make regular public statements.

Saying that I'd agree that we could do with a statement from Mosh considering we look set to make a transfer window profit, meaning we've sold-to-buy.

That'd be pretty unwise to take in more than spending out in his first window as owner.

d've known exactly what he was getting into

An excuse? It'd be like putting your hand in a fire and burning your hand, but using the heat as an excuse. I have an feeling that he would've had an idea as to what he was getting into and he wouldn't of made any quotes or put out any messages purely to go against them. Please, for the love of God stop bedwetting. Seriously, when did Evertonians become a bunch of cryarse reactive tarts.

Some are like the kid sat in the back asking "are we nearly here yet" as your pulling off the drive to go to Devon, you just have no guts for the long game.
