Strip away the hype and it's a Championship player and a winger who has no end product. £32M thrown at that. Unreal.

Williams remains the only good bit of business since the window opened, and here we are now with 6 days until the window slams shut. In effect, we can kiss goodbye to anything being done between now and after the weekend as the Stoke game and its aftermath loom. Which leaves us with Monday through Wednesday to get deals sorted out.

Even if we did sort those out it's same old same old: a summer wasted trying to gel a team together and going into the first half of the season bedding in a handful of players.

Surely £7.1 for Gueye represents good business? I didn't know who he was, but after seeing him he looks a snip, even if his form trails off.

Gana is a class act, and I am sure you are hoping by May you will be eating your words
Let's face it mate, you hadn't heard of him until we bought him (I know I hadn't). And he's been here for two games. If he's proved to be our Kante by May then yes, I'll eat my words.

I think it is becoming obvious that there will be no investment from Moshiri on players this summer. There have been no reports of him lending money to us, or of him intending to dilute the current shareholdings through investing via equity, and it’s highly unlikely that he is going to be giving us money for free. This information would be apparent if he was intending on investing.

The exaggerated nonsense we were pedalled about him hasn't helped. He's here for a return. If he had a new stadium he'd announce it. If he had serious funds wed not have a negative net spend. If he had a plan players would not be turning us down AOTS.

He's a slight upgrade on Bill. Far from a game changer.

The impatience of some of you lot on here is laughable, it really is, you can give Martinez 2 years of utter crap results and want him to stay, yet after 5 months you are calling Moshiri a fraud after he's poached two of the top talents in the league to lay the foundations on the playing side and is soon to announce the building of a new stadium on the docks.

I can not get my head round that mentality...

Does this ever happen? Despite being conclusively wrong on nearly every aspect of Martinez's tenure you've now started off on a negative light towards players in the new regime who haven't even kicked a ball for us. Gueye and Stekelenberg have started well from the three games we've seen and Williams is a proven performer. No need at this stage for negativity towards the new signings.

Patience is undoubtedly a virtue, but if you can't display patience can you at least show a degree of civility to both staff at the club and to fellow members on here. You're all sensible adults so I'm sure you can manage it.
I agree, can you imagine if we just went out and bought anything that moved, how irresponsible would that be.

Let the top brass get on with it, they know more about business and the boss knows more about football than probably all of us put together.

We are spending a lot money on players any other season we would of been moaning about, however I agree, I think we need patience..

I think that having a go at each other over rumours and here-say, and opinions on how players are going to fit into a system we don't even know, in a team that I suspect hasn't even been decided by a manager who has only managed a couple of games for us is ..well.. maybe a little premature. At least wait till the window shuts...

Preferably lets wait till Christmas before turning on each other.

That's not even close to whats being said here. How is making the obvious and glaring point that we're miles off this window a call for Moshiri to step up and take the blame for a generation of mistakes?

I said last night that there's no will from some to engage in debate about where we currently stand, they have to dramatise any enquiry by labelling it as impatience for a stadium to be built next week or £100M net transfer spending. It's just a caricature.
