Its quite simple for me, we had 30mill on the table for a player yesterday, we spent + 10 mill and + 25mill on players in the weeks before the window.

We are eating of a different table, we just havnt been invited to the party as yet.

Moshiri in.
No mate.

If we wanted Sissoko we'd have been able to sign him for 30m weeks ago. Everybody know Spurs would match and bid and he'd go there.

The fact is we didn't even spend the Stones' money. Moshiri has probably recouped the money he invested from the TV deal and what not.

He's just an Iranian Kenwright.

At 9:30 last night, many in fact i would say the vast majority didnt want Sissoko in the transfer thread, now its a scandel.

My own opinion is that he wasnt our first option, i think clearly Witsel was for the no 8 role. So maybe that is mitigation.

I remember numerous quotes from the summer about the old regime being involved in transfer negotiations, i think at the time it was put down to that regime being known in the market and having a profile that could support the transition of change in regimes. I dont know if that is a reason why things didnt come off, but perhaps they were not used to shopping in the high end of the market, maybe their skills and expierence are in budget management and lower profile agents or operating in a different end or phase of the market.

I think the problem was not in intent but management of the window, i think maybe there are to many cooks presently a transition in regimes and stakeholders that seem to have shut down deals - just doesnt seem cohesive. Look at all the key stakeholders, Kenwirght, Elstone, Moshiri, Koeman, Walsh etc. Maybe our approach at a management level just wasnt streamlined enough.

Can't argue with that.

PS just looking at your footer there. I think we could have done an awful lot worse than take punts on Negrado, Martins Indi and Bony. ffs Everton.

I think we have the money, but I think we need to pump the breaks on this shrewd businessman talk. Set aside what he has done outside of football (obviously impressive), but as an owner he put his trust in Elstone and Kenwroght who have proven time and time again to be inept. He allowed an entire summer to pass him by without filling key holes.

Thats the baffleing thing for me mate, if you were going to get a Valencia may as well been a Remy or a Bony as a Valencia, i would put the former at a higher calibe of player.

I just find that loony.

He should make sure that we don't fail like this again. People should be sacked and replaced with competent people who can get deals done. That is if we have money of course which we keep being told we do but don't actually see any proof of it.
