If you watch Koemans press conference pre WBA he doesn't confirm nor deny interest in Hart but agrees if a player of his quality is available he is interested

A week later the Stoke game he gives a firm aggressive angry No.

So what happened in that week? Did Man City say no? Did they want too much? Did Hart even want to come? Did we even want him? Who knows.. But I just get the feeling there is more too it. Was there only a certain amount of money available and Koeman decided it should be prioritised elsewhere? Same with Sissoko I'm sure we only went in for him because everything else failed but at the time we didn't have enough to pay for him and Beharni and Gabbiadiani together
A rational analysis of events but some want to continue to delude themselves that we're fantastically rich.
"Everton are about to make an “ambitious £40m move” ... And will pay Hart £200,000 a week for his troubles."
The above quote appeared in The Guardian in May. Leaked by us no doubt to generate the buzz that helped to land RK.
Ultimately we couldn't afford to pay Hart's wages on a loan because our budget (probably around 35m net) was being prioritised elsewhere.

KENWRIGHT AND ELSTONE: The 2 of them are the problem. The club stunk of mediocrity with these two running it for god knows how long.
Kenwright with his egotistical ramblings of days gone by whilst damaging the clubs profile with failure after failure.
Elstone is just an accountant who Kenwright trusted to run the club whilst he could continue with his theatrical pleasures.
A CEO who thought it was convenient to carry on with a pathetic shirt sponsorship deal with Chang whilst also allowing Kitbag to control who buys the club colours.
There are too many catastrophes to mention that had their names associated with them.

Hopefully Moshiri will now see the pair of them for what they are and move them on ASAP,because if he doesn't we can expect the same again

Brahimi raging at Porto this morning for sabotaging his move to us. These weren't phantom bids.

However, Moshiri has to learn three key lessons for me from all this:

1. Push hard early to address your biggest weakness
2. Don't go into TDD with more than 'nice to have' needs
3. Get Bill & Elstone out of the mix

An agent mate tells me Bill persisted in his drip-by-drip negotiating tactics despite our increased resources and this prolonged even the deals we completed. Elstone allegedly dropped the ball with the contractual/legal background checks on Brahimi failing to spot the third party ownership issue & impact on fee until TDD eve.

Harsh lessons need to be learned but we still did some decent business. Glass just about half full.

Thanks for the info, the sad thing is most blues knew this could have happened with Bill and Suntan.

Interesting.

The bolded bit is unbelievable if true. Grounds to be sacked today that. Anyone who has paid any attention would know about the third party ownership situation. It's quite common with Portuguese clubs as well.

Overall, we have a better squad of players than we did at the end of last season. The one glaring mistake for me is not bringing in a proven striker. Hopefully with our favourable fixture list, we can build up some momentum and be well placed to bring in strength in January. A positive announcement sooner rather than later regarding new stadium would help.

nothing to do with moshiri being a fraud he had a bid accepted for sissoko, he played us like a joke like a team that finished 11th last year, gabbiadini napoli wouldnt sell without a replacement, other lad chose arsenal over us, he clearly has money same with witsel, The fact of the matter is who ever was dealing with transfers is the biggest joke, as moshiri said it was kenwright clearly he needs to take a back seat and moshiri will feel as embarrassed as anyone

without bumming the echo they are right we are stronger than last year good start better manager clearly money there just got to get behind the team now we do make a difference at home when we are behind the team

If we finish in EL/CL position this season then we have top players queuing to join us.

At the moment we have had two lower half finishes in a row, so we need to get the basics right.

Good, solid start to Project Koeman so far, so let's knuckle down and concentrate on staying in the top 6.

My own opinion is he doesn't strike me the type to throw £30m at a player to satisfy the pathetic desires of a few. I may be wrong like but a new manager and the questionable contract extension for Gibson makes me think next summer will be ...

Rather than this summer
;)

Moshiri will fully appreciate that this has been a complete PR disaster for the club. Successful businessmen at his exalted level do no like having egg on their face and the accusing finger pointed at them. I would imagine he would make damn sure that:
a) the finger quickly gets pointed at someone else
b) an inquest is held and lessons learned as to what went wrong
c) the club spends like there is no tomorrow in January

Exactly my point mate, how can we blame players for picking other teams, we done the right thing took the best players from the teams around us last year on top of are already strong squad, stay around there till at least christmas am sure a few players will come available then
