lol

That's what I was thinking defo a wind up.

Getting flashbacks to the scene in Phoenix nights when max and paddy call up saying the club has burnt down

So what's the basis for this analysis?
- Ronald Koeman publicly told the fans he wanted another 3 or 4 players, this was after we'd made several signings.

- Ronald Koeman - in my opinion and I am sure in the opinion of many others too - wouldn't have jumped ship from Southampton just for a better contract without being given license to create his own squad.

- Bill Kenwright publicly told the fans that Mr Moshiri has promised "further investment in the summer" (might not be 100% word for word). I'd passionately argue that re-investing 70% of the Stones' money isn't claeed as "further investment".

- Everton ran a season ticket campaign promising things would "never be the same" (again, may not be 100% word for word).

- As many fans feared, it did indeed prove to be sell to buy, regardless of any fancy essays suggesting we needed to sell Stones to fund several 100k a week footballers coming in.

- It appears the manager was given the Stones' money to change the squad around as much as he could.

- Koeman doesn't appear to be a pushover who'd happily waltz into the season with no decent backup striker, no third goalkeeper he kept banging on about.

- Either we've had the most unbelievable run of bad luck in negotiations ever, or the board didn't make the funds available. I know which one I believe, as even if we couldn't attract our A list players, or even our B list players, we sure as hell - particularly with the aid of Mr Buy-Low-Sell-High Director of Football Walsh - should have had C list players lined up.

Everton FC isn't some part time club that's only been around a few years. They have many staff earning an awful lot of money to ensure the squad and club is as strong as it can possibly be. Koeman must be livid this morning, and rightly so. If I were him I'd be questioning why I left Southampton in the first place. One injury to Lukaku and the season is as good as a write off.
