I am still puzzled at the supposed Moshiri quote today. It literally does not make any sense to me. Why not go through Everton? This is assuming the quote is legitimate but would Jim White go to that extent to make up all of this? Surely something must've been sent, and I can't make any sense of it.

I'm guessing that the quote will have been put together by some twerk in our PR office, although possibly agreed by Moshiri - certainly from someone senior in the club. He really needs to get some people on board who have even a semblance of understanding of these things - you really do have to be a special category of stupid to think it was a good idea. Whoever has put it together must think that texting an idiot from SSN will appeal to our fanbase and show us in a good light generally. God knows where this could come from, as my belief is that most football fans don't have any real respect for Sky and see them as part of the whole money-grabbing, things have never been better, what a time to be alive view of modern football. To use them as a source for putting club information into the twitter-sphere is simply plain stupid.

So mate if Barry's legs go as he's 35 who comes in short term? McCarthy or Gibson hmmm hard one that
Okay, but why go through Jim White and not Everton? So, you're saying that his logic behind this was to make sure that McCarthy does well IF Barry is no longer fit?

In the early part of the summer when we were "marquee hunting" they had no involvement - it was Moshiri and Ryazantsev doing the initial pitch to agents, and then players.

When the strategy changed (at the time of Walsh's arrival but not totally related) we were looking more at domestic markets and I suspect Bill was used to leverage existing relationships (he was heavily involved in Stones' sale). Elstone as CEO has to be part of the completion stage, particularly in the absence of alternatives.

I don't expect the same mistakes to be made in the next window.
What it highlighted was its ok BK and Elstone negotiating in the British market but when it comes to the European powerhouses they've got absolutely no clue and the evidence is there with their past track record of failed mariquee signings.

Which could all be done by a press release from the club, or even if he wanted to do it personally he could do it the proper way.

This is a guy who has been completely silent barring his program notes for his first game as majority shareholder - months and months on end of silence - and all of a sudden he's texting Jim White stuff that just outright sounds like nonsense and completely out of character, like he's his best mate?

True or not, there should have been an official statement from the club denying the origin of this text. Should have been nipped in the bud right away. The longer the silence, the stupider it gets!

If club released an offical statement about transfer targets would bring more attention to fact than Jim White..
Could of done it via
Joyce or Echo or Matt law. Makes no difference in my eyes.

There is no way Jim would be lying as it would put his job in jeopardy.

It may be someone simply winding Jim up, although I'm pretty sure Jim wouldn't just have a random contact on his phone without being sure it was him

Likelihood is its from our pr team and Moshiri will have had some input into it. Moshiri hasn't thought about what he's saying properly and the PR team have probably not realised the extent of the message sent.

However the weirdest thing is why is Jim White all of a sudden best mates with our owner? And why does Moshiri want to tell him things more than he does us fans via the OS instead?

Jao moutinho, Banega, requlime probably only wanted money, something we couldn't offer.

Try penny pinching to foreign clubs and they will laugh at you.

They know sky sports his emoployers would foot the bill if it come to a law suit and he wouldn't be liable.

They know what is and what isn't against the law and sit on boarderline.

Part of manipulating fans of winding people up.

Sky sources are also able to tell lies to manipulate betting trends....

Take all with a pinch of salt.

If it went to court he could say it's not reflection of my employer and I'm not liable....

That McCarthy quote makes no sense at all...

Why did we get rid of Hibbert, Osman and Pienaar in not the most elegant way then?

Beats any quote Billy bulls.t ever made... This guy looks like a fraud and he somehow have found himself an excuse for not investing any money into Everton. If he is telling the truth he acttually stopped a transfer because he did not want any competition for places in the squad.... Could it be worse?

He needs to show he wants to invest into Everton... so far he had 6 months to consider his strategy and sadly it shows he won't. We still have to sell to buy.

That wouldn't bother him. It would be the fact he would be dismissed from a well paid job.

I seriously doubt JW made it up. At the same time, I'm having serious difficulty believing Moshiri would be texting him. It could all be a wind up via faked text messages. But then, if that were true surely the club would have denied the "watch this space" text.

Bloody confusing.
