@The Esk New charge registered - Rights and Media Funding Ltd. No image available so don't know what to make of it.

Thanks mate, I made some comments earlier:

Just for the record, I was informed in early summer that the club's debts had been settled and a significant sum of money had gone into the club. I have spoken to the person several times since and he is insistent. The person concerned without revealing identity would be in a position to know this and given his professional status is unlikely in the extreme to not be telling the truth.

I believe the debt he is referring to is the long term Pru/AIB loan.

Now let me deal with Rights and Media Funding Limited. The way the previous loans from them are structured is that they take an assignment over the Premier League broadcasting payments. At the end of the year the payments made by the Premier League are paid not directly to Everton but to the lender (R&M Funding Limited) and the balance is forwarded to Everton. Therefore the loan is always paid off before the beginning of a new season.

The charge document which has appeared on Companies House does not necessarily mean an additional loan has been taken out. It would appear as it has if the club has agreed a facility with the lender. A facility is an option to borrow money at any time over the period of the agreement.

You might want to consider what this option is for. We are about to engage in the building of a new stadium. In all my comments and articles previously I have stated we would have debt as part of that exercise.

This new loan thing is probably (or maybe that should be hopefully) for stadium stuff yeah?

Like rather than lumping £400m down in one go, do it over instalments yeah?

YEAH?!?!

We took a loan from the same company at the same time last year.

That wasn't stadium related.

It's possible, but realistically no.

Nobody is saying he should throw endless money at it - but he should invest something. Retaking a regular pre-season loan and having a negative net spend isn't exactly encouraging is it?

As said, if that loan is contingency for the stadium, so be it. But it's the same loan on almost the same exact date as last season, so you have to expect it's just the same thing. If so, that means Moshiri has no interest (at least at this time) of clearing our debt, and the transfer window at least raises the massive suspicion that he has no interest in investing in transfers either.

If that's the case, then what is he here for? The answer would be obvious - a business decision to make money, just like any other businessman who isn't a sugar daddy in the Premier League.
Here's here to help Bill build a stadium because Bill can't get the council to finance it. I think that's obvious but I would like him to come out and confirm that.

I'm a long time lurker and new poster. My main concern is that maybe Moshiri is a Samuelson Mk2 - a stooge that keeps BK in the saddle for longer. I'm sure its utter paranoia, but Kenwright gets you that way.

But doesn't there have to be a catch up at some point, otherwise the CH records would be years out of date if no one notified them?

Registration of release of a Charge

There is no statutory requirement for a company to inform Companies House that:

  • the debt secured by a registered charge has been satisfied in whole or part
  • a registered charge has been fully or partly released or
  • the charged property no longer belongs to the company
However, it is normally in the company's own interests to keep the Companies House charges register up to date. If a company wants to have these events noted on the register, it must notify Companies House by delivering the prescribed form of release particulars.

There is no requirement that the company itself makes these statements and delivers these particulars. A charge holder can also do so.

We didn't sign one, so it's irrelevant - we didn't want to do it enough.

Again, I'll get the accusation I expect every player to be a £70m signing now, but that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that if you're a benefactor of a football club, and you want to send a statement that you want to play in the big leagues, then you identify a target and get that target. We did it with the small change options in Koeman and Walsh, but we didn't do it for players on the pitch, and that says a lot.

Moshiri is not a benefactor though. Remember he is an accountant by trade (a bean counter) and he will have been calculating every last penny. Perhaps, given his Arsenal background, he feels investing in a new stadium at this stage is a better return on his money rather than blowing a massive hole in our wage structure that may become untenable in the future?

It gets better.
