The key point for me is that USM is merely a holding company, who's ever named anything after a holding company?

It would make more sense if it was one of the brands under the USM umbrella that was to be the name used on Finch Farm, but a holding company chucking a wedge at such a marketing medium makes no sense whatsoever to me.
It allows them to put all their companies around the stadium in the backdrop of the interviews etc.

For now i want Everton to start building towards being regular finishers in the champions league places and winning the FA cup.So it's really encouraging to hear Moshiri speak about Everton being premier league champions again! He's not intrested in being second or seventh best he wants Everton to be number 1.He really comes across a very driven man with a plan and a sense of purpose.I think this is the first chairman/owner we have had with this sense of ambition since Sir John Moores. He fired Martinez. There is a real hope of us having a new stadium by the Liverpool waterfront and we have a owner who wants to take Everton back to the forefront of the English and European game. The day's of Everton being happy enough with finishing in 6th or 7th place are over.So we really are in an exciting position.I've spoken a bit about my concerns about Usamov in the thread about him.So for the reasons i outlined there i would be wary of him coming on board as an investor. The Russian rouble is dirty money and like Abramovich at Chelsea i think he probably didn't gain all of his money cleanly. My hopes are to see Everton compete and thrive with the elite clubs of Europe while still maintaining the characteristics traditions and values that make Everton such a unique and special football club.

That's going to take money. Plenty of it. His plan better involve that then. Usmanov-type wealth financing the on field.

As much as I respect your views mate... Moshiri is Usmanov’s accountant or old accountant now... where do you think his money comes from? From Usmanov’s companies... so I'm afraid by your definition it's dirty Russian money too..

I'd love to get all moral about it.. but I'd rather be winning things and not care where the money comes from... in this sad day and age we need money to compete and we can't afford to get sentimental about where it comes from.

"So the news has broken that USM, the holding company of Usmanov, Skoch and Moshiri are to provide £75 million of sponsorship and name rights funding for the next five years....
At a stroke they’ve created great value for USM in terms of publicity, and through the sponsorship funding enormously assisted Everton in future strengthening of their squad leading to higher revenues, success and a higher valuation. The logic is outstandingly simple, and it appears compliant with the rules of the Premier League.
It’s really quite brilliant for all involved."

*cough* Nov 13th.

At some point though it doesnt become worth it. If you make football players walking billboards the aesthetic value of football is diminished...and all for the sake of a few extra million that every team will get (and teams will get at at a rate usually commensurate with their current status in the league and therefore the purpose of securing deals is negated).

Moshiri needs to pull in cash that other clubs who we view as being behind us cant access and thereby securing us a financial base to launch an assault on the clubs ahead of us financially. He's a billionaire with a lot of contacts so where is the creative thinking on that? So far he's merely suggested a commercial arm that goes on performing 'as is' with only a new stadium shifting us forward.

Sounds very familiar.

As long as you're on board, that's all we wanted. Welcome.

Time for Mr Moshiri and the board to get some actual money spent on decent players in this window.

I'm sick and tired of all this cheap talk with very little action.

If we don't sign at least 5 players ready for the first team then it's yet another failure.

I'm sure Kenwright still thinks that Martinez' squad was/is quality.

Everything will be the same
