So if Lukaku decided to stay do you think Keane/Pickford/Klassen would not be with us now??

It's quite straightforward that the Club knew they would get £75m+ for Lukaku though isn't it? Everyone knew he was going.

Had he not gone (got injured or something) the club would have far more aggressively marketed Barkley / McCarthy / Besic and carried a net spend of about £25m.

Love the quote about buying uniteds leading scorer. You mean the washed up lad they no longer need as they buy our 25 goal scorer and leave us with a tubby old man?

That's your ambition right there. Pander to united as per usual.

7m net spend, dress it up however you want to but that's a fact.

There's nothing to dress up. You're front loading the argument by implying that's implicitly a bad thing so anyone defending Moshiri is denying that assertion.

£7m net spend. Ok.

Its a lot more if you include the last two windows anyway but yeah £7 net spend this window. If you ignore agents fees, increased wages, taxes and premier league fees.

Well, not last summer of course as we made a profit. January window, yes, net of about £18m isn't it?

Everyone pays those, it's relative.

Stood still? lol just bloody lol
Yeah that's right.

If someone had said last summer that in a year from now Lukaku, Barkley (two of Evertons biggest assets) and McCarthy will be sold, you'd naturally be concerned. Lukaku has gone. Barkley and McCarthy are imminent.

We've brought in some decent players to help fill that void and so, well we've stood still.

Like running water through a colander. It's repetitive. Same in same out

Why? Because you do not like anyone questioning the actions of the club? Or not agreeing with other posters ?
Because there's being negative and then there's going into a wholly unnecessary mini meltdown. Whilst you haven't quite reached that stage yet, a number of your peers have. It's having a detrimental effect on the forum to the point where a lot of sh*tposting has occurred as a result.

Stoke are owned by a billionaire, so are Newcastle, so are Liverpool, so are Sunderland ffs. It's only the loonies who thought we were going to be the new Citeh.
Preaching to the converted. I was responding to a point about us 'not yet' competing with the super rich, by pointing out that we are just not super rich, and probably won't ever be under Moshiri. I was saying the same yesterday but some people just won't have it.

I've said numerous times that I don't mind what Moshiri's doing, but I do think he got a bit carried away himself and caused a bit of hysteria. He basically said money was no object, claimed we'd bid £60m for a defender and said we only had a short window to make ourselves a real force. All of those things suggested he was going to bankroll us, at least to a reasonable extent.

The reality has been different though. That's fine, but let's not pretend that our current situation is what was initially suggested.

To be fair, you could argue threads titled 'Everton rising' and predicting a run at the title over a couple of signings also are 'ruining' the forum as it is badly meffy

I respectfully dissagree ................

Wonderful

Hows he phoney though? That implies he promised to do something he didn't deliver on. He never said he was going to be a sugar daddy.

He stated he'd give Everton all he has. HE hasn't contributed one penny.

He removed a manager out of his depth and brought in a superior replacement.
Really? He pursued a manager and gave him a massive salary and all he's done so far is to end his first season in charge in early January. Of course Roberto had to be removed in the end as the refuseniks wouldn't play his way. But that doesn't mean any old one stepping into his shoes was or will be a success.

He improved Everton's stadium.

Oh boy. Not even going to be arsed dealing with that.

He secured sponsorship of our training ground.

To what effect? What is the deal?

He massively improved our shirt sponsorship deal.

No. Just no. The figures on this are in dispute between club and sponsor.

He secured a substantial line of credit.
Great. More debt.

We've signed the best English goalie, the best English CB, United and England's top goal scorer, a tremendous Spanish prospect, clutch of highly promising youngsters etc.

They aren't that good, they were over paid for and in any case HE had nothing whatsoever to do with the purchases. He didn't invest the cash.

He's not Abramovich but attacking him for that is agenda driven lunacy.

He's not Abramovic and he's not some half way house between Abramovic and Kenwright...he IS Kenwright.
