Ive listed 4 already pal. A football club is a business, its not all about signings and which players have been moved on that didnt live up to their form at other clubs and replaced by players who the board, dof and manager collectively believe can take the club forward. I repeat as you just seem to ignore facts: We have renovated Goodison, moved hq to the liver building, signed 3 players from barca, invested in FF, made actual progress with getting a new stadium..

When city got bought out - did they have the likes of aguero, silva et al from day one.. no they bought players that had form and swapped and changed with a few marquee signings until, as a brand, they had an identity. If we have half of the squad or success city have bought themselves, I for one will be made up.
Ha Ha Ha Ha.

Are you seriously putting that forward to be considered as progress?

Not just me mate, look at that poll above. You're the one in the minority.

That poll is only conducive to results on the pitch. If you did a poll asking if the owner is backing the team/club with adequate funds then it would be totally different. His only failure is hiring. That must apply to the majority of clubs.

I don’t really get your angle on this one mate. If we somehow bring down our £65m net spend significantly by selling the dead wood you mentioned yesterday then it’s a massive result.

Our net spend was last summer and considering the wage increases, it was HUGE. I know Moshiri is ultimately responsible for how poorly the club used the funds but he gave his DOF and manager full control to use those funds and they failed.

If we fail to sell anyone for any real value this window, Moshiri has backed us once again. See Esk’s upcoming post about the financial side and how the club couldn’t have afforded it without a cash injection.

If anything I don’t want our net spend to be ridiculous as we need to be sustainable.

You have to admit that Moshiri has been after Marco (earlier in the season) and Marcel (two years) for a while now and this is the set up he wanted, and overall so far so good.

The likes of Mina joining when Lyon were seriously interested is concrete evidence that we’re much better run now.
The cash injection this summer came from a Chinese Bank to the tune of £60M mate. Take a look at the Companies House script.

Then set a new poll about how Moshiri is progressing the club off the pitch - or not.

You are correct. On the pitch we haven't progressed but behind the scenes we have progressed significantly
We used to get loans for transfer windows under Kenweright all the time, secured by tv monies. Guess what, that's exactly what we did this summer too. £60M loan....which comes pretty close to covering the net spend.

Funny that.

I would if I knew how to. My technical skills have never progressed.
Well if one was set about club governance satisfaction levels I'd be staggered if a majority of Evertonians would think his oversight of £300M spending of the club's own money, four managers in 12 months, a continued lack of clarity on the stadium, and the appointment of no marks to senior club positions constitutes a success story for him.

If he delivers the new stadium then there will be no argument. As far as football matters go I think he has been bang average, but would like to see him freed of Bill's meddling before judging him fully. I thought Bill would've retired by now, I had it on good authority he'd be off in the close season but not happened yet, maybe the Usmanov situation has had a bearing?

Whoops someone’s tune has changed. I thought it was the outgoings that would cover the incomings. Net spent and all that malarkey.

Do you leave large trails on the ground whenever you move the goalposts?

But people have said we've had a good window after yesterday. Isn't that down to Bill's meddling also?

Ha Ha Ha Ha.

If you dont attribute development off the pitch as development of the club as a whole then you, davek, definitely live in world of your own. Do you not think these players look at a club as a whole and make their mind up to sign a contract based on facilities and infrastructure?

Something tells me you still havent cottoned on to bacon being a biproduct of pigs, chicken nuggets coming from actual chickens.. etc etc isnt just about a 90 minute game of football.
