Someone posted a pretty good analogy last night. Marco is the PE teacher that everyone likes but never actually does his job. Marco is a great person - not even kidding or trying to soften the blow. Rarely made excuses and shouldered blame. May even be a good individual teacher of the game. Not good at his job of putting together consistently good game plans and winning, and that's all that matters in this business as a manager.

The good managers are always ones who command respect and a bit of fear. They can joke a bit, but not too much. Because they command respect you want to always do your best not to disappoint them and will give your all. It is a little but fatherly too. Guys like Fergie had it, and Moyes has it (when he has a squad of his own players).

Silva didnt deserve the last 2 weeks of the constant tirade of "you're only here because theres no one better" from the media and then yesterday was an absolute disgrace. Making him take training, probably set them up for the game on Saturday and 10 hours into his day tell him hes on his way.
