£40m annually is pretty sizable tbh. If you increase the value of the squad by £40m every year for 5 years you'd certainly expect to be in a much better position we're in.

I know what you mean, in theory our squad would be in a better position.

But two key points here:

1: We started off miles behind the top 6 squad wise. So £40mil odd a season isnt going to catch up to anyone in a hurry.

2: Spurs, Arsenal and the rest of the top 6 as they call them have all spent a lot of money themselves. Arsenal just popped out £130mil odd this summer...

Wages wise they will be shelling out more than us as well.

I actually thought during last season we needed 4 starting additions on what we had then. We still need them at CB, RB, CM and RW.

In addition, for the squad we need a GK, LB/RB, CM, WF and CF.

Thats a huge number of players for us to really consisently compete for top 4 or 6.

Arsenal have gotten alot of stick but theyve signed a large amount of young players in the past two seasons. United as well have built a young team and Leicester look alot closer than us at the moment.

I think whichever way you look at it £40mil a season is nowhere near what we should be investing if were aiming high.

My hope is that we make a couple of clever young signings next summer and then a big splash in summer 2023 before the stadium is open.

Waaaaah get him out the club waaaaah we need proper billionaires like those Arabs that wanted to buy Newcastle waaaah
I mean, are you happy with how things have gone? We've basically bankrupt ourselves to finish 10th and end up with a squad with one PL standard full back, not to mention that we are still playing games with Iwobi in the starting line up. It's not gone great, has it?

You'll probably mention the stadium, and it is great that we're getting a shiny waterfront home, but that's yet more expenditure that, ultimately, the club (i.e. the fans) will have to stump up for and won't necessarily improve our fortunes.

We're not bankrupt. He's just invested in the wrong people on the pitch (rough figures)-

£300mill that Ronk and Walsh spunked.
£60mill for Fat Scam
£200mill for Marco Quick Silva
£60mill for Carlo
Marcel Brands too?

It's like Mosh giving you money for a Ferrari and you go buy banged up V reg Ford Fiestas.

Off the field we've got record revenue, 18th richest club in world football, doubled the commercial arm (biggest commercial growth in Europe) and have a new stadium being built.

Hes pulled the funds this season purely down to our wage bill and loses over 3 years to stop the premier league sniffing if they want to invoke their £105mill loss quota. This should be fine now Bernard, James, Sigurdsson (?), Kean (for a fee) all off the books.

Am I happy? Not with on the pitch. No. Off the pitch... perfectly happy.

Inappropriate Language
He is living proof of the old saying that if Kenwright hadn't been a Blue he would have been legged out of Goodison with pitchforks.

Three failed ground moves

Sell to buy

Taking us to the brink of financial oblivion

Selling Rooney + Arteta to pay the banks

Stopping fans having a voice at AGM's

Yet clapped on the big screen

Meanwhile Moshiri:

Building us a £500+ million world class stadium on the docks and personally financing a part of it out his own pocket

Invested £450+ million into player signings

Yet is hounded because he hired Benitez & Brands/Walsh wasted the money he kindly gave them to spend

Stop mate, you’ll go against the agenda.

Moshiri is bad, Kenwright is bad, everyone is bad… booooo….

Kenwright and Brands can [Poor language removed] though.

Commercial growth was due to the one off stadium naming rights option of £30m - its been fairly stagnant otherwise. I’d argue off the pitch, stadium aside we’ve been as inept as we’ve always been.

he's managed to settle the age old question 'can one man blow half a billion in just five years'. We know now they can.
If he'd been brought in as a chief exec and blown that cash I'm thinking people would be less understanding of his bumbling incompetence, but what can you do, he's spent it now. So we're stuck with him, til he bulldozes Goodison Park and sells up.
thanks for all your help, Farhad.

Koeman Allardyce Silva Benitez Walsh and Brands. While Ancelotti was a coup, he even agreed to allow him have an escape clause, for whenever Real Madrid clicked their fingers. The hiring and firing of crap managers, the so called directors of footballs, the millions and millions flushed down the drain on crap players.

I think we have accumulated enough evidence, to come to the conclusion that with regards to the footballing side of things, Moshiri has been a total and utter disaster. The more money we spend the worse and worse we get. Oh well at least he hopefully will be able to deliver the new stadium, because with regards to on field matters, we are way off the pace with no signs of it turning around.

It’s largely the same people behind the scenes so it’s hardly a surprise

Worst thing Moshiris done here was failing to clear out all the Kenwright era execs and staff, DBB included

Bill being Chairman is a joke too, if you take over a failing business you don’t keep the old boss around

He seems a decent bloke for a billionaire accountant but his decisions and appointments since he assumed control have signally failed to arrest the overall decline of our ,albeit modest, standing which began during Martinez’ second season.
That represents a failure of leadership whichever way you look at it.
However I do not want him ousted as I believe he did his best , it just hasn’t been good enough , and ultimately it’s better to deal with the devil you know.
