It’s largely the same people behind the scenes so it’s hardly a surprise

Worst thing Moshiris done here was failing to clear out all the Kenwright era execs and staff, DBB included

Bill being Chairman is a joke too, if you take over a failing business you don’t keep the old boss around
You’re right - was hoping he’d install a more professional culture behind the scenes but it just seems a continuation of the “jobs for the boys” attitude - the one that gives pennington and kenny long contracts, that continues to employ unsworth despite the utter failure of the academy and that hides its commercial and strategic incomptence behind the (admittedly excellent) everton in the community.

If the stadium wasn’t being built this regime would be in serious trouble.

He and us have been let down by these absolutely shocking managers and their terrible recruitment policy. We do need a massive clearout and the books need to be straightened. Whilst I couldn't comprehend the Benitez appointment - everything I've seen and heard snce he's arrived tells me he will sort this shambles out - but it won't happen overnight. If he's as succesful as I think he;s going to be then Moshiri can take a back seat and will get some reward from the gamble he has taken with us. I'm pretty optimistic for the first time in years.

The problem is, and I’ll always be grateful for the money he’s put in, that he tried and wanted to catapult us into the top 4 without any real thought process. He just just threw money at it in the hope it would resolve itself.

I have serious concerns with who does what at our club. Both our DoFs have wasted serious cash, but it seems that neither had full control over transfers; hence there’s no strategy and it’s just adding more chefs to the kitchen.

If you’d turn the clock back to when he took over and he’d appointed a DoF who had sole control, and was responsible for all transfers and football strategy, we’d be in a far better position now.

He’s brought this mess on himself which unfortunately has tarnished the money he’s given us.

Commercial growth was due to the one off stadium naming rights option of £30m - its been fairly stagnant otherwise. I’d argue off the pitch, stadium aside we’ve been as inept as we’ve always been.

Oh so we don't count that then?

If we don't count that...it was still increasing each year. Same with overall revenue that's gone up especially for a team that finished 11th and 10th and no euro footy.

But yeah...as poor as kenwrights era

He seems a decent bloke for a billionaire accountant but his decisions and appointments since he assumed control have signally failed to arrest the overall decline of our ,albeit modest, standing which began during Martinez’ second season.
That represents a failure of leadership whichever way you look at it.
However I do not want him ousted as I believe he did his best , it just hasn’t been good enough , and ultimately it’s better to deal with the devil you know.

He fired everyone when Koeman and Walsh spent all his money on duds (including a lot of behind the scenes people at the club). Fired Silva when he wasn't the man people thought he could be. Replaced him with Ancelotti which was a massive statement of intent. He's gone through 4 managers in 6 years.

Leadership isn't his issue. It's trust I feel

Then there's Brands who I think is becoming less and less trusted with fans anyway.

The core was rotten from the Koeman reign that was never fully exorcised but added to IMO.

We're not bankrupt. He's just invested in the wrong people on the pitch (rough figures)-

£300mill that Ronk and Walsh spunked.
£60mill for Fat Scam
£200mill for Marco Quick Silva
£60mill for Carlo
Marcel Brands too?

It's like Mosh giving you money for a Ferrari and you go buy banged up V reg Ford Fiestas.

Off the field we've got record revenue, 18th richest club in world football, doubled the commercial arm (biggest commercial growth in Europe) and have a new stadium being built.

Hes pulled the funds this season purely down to our wage bill and loses over 3 years to stop the premier league sniffing if they want to invoke their £105mill loss quota. This should be fine now Bernard, James, Sigurdsson (?), Kean (for a fee) all off the books.

Am I happy? Not with on the pitch. No. Off the pitch... perfectly happy.
The only reason we're not bankrupt is our sugardaddy. I'm sure every sugarbaby since the dawn of time has thought "daddy won't get bored of me, he'll love me forever, this ride will never end". The ride might have already ended for us, maybe it hasn't, who knows? Whether Moshiri/Usmanov is bored with us already or whether it is PL P&L rules that are holding us back only time will tell. However, if we continue to languish in mid-table, eventually Moshiri will decide enough is enough. He's made a pig's ear of the playing side of this football club (literally the only thing the average fan, including me cares about). Where is the evidence that will be resolved? In three years time we are likely to be a minimum of half a billion in debt, possibly more, at a time when TV revenues (our major revenue stream) are in decline. Our wages are 85% of our turnover, we've moved James out but are paying top dollar for Benitez and Rondon, a manager and player that nobody else wanted, we have learned zero lessons. I sincerely hope there is a big picture that Moshiri is seeing that nobody else is, but I've yet to see any evidence that that is the case. It gives me no pleasure to say this, but Moshiri is going to destroy this club.

Puzzling how someone can become a self made billionaire and yet preside over such a sh#tshow

We also don’t know what sort of advice he’s getting and who from or if he takes any advice on board. He’s sacked a director of football and so many managers yet we are not seeing significant wholesale changes above those roles. Collective responsibility.

No. An appropriate corporate structure prevents that from happening. The appointment of a DoF was supposed to provide oversight. The fact that Moshiri has allowed successive managers to ride roughshod over the DoF and, by various accounts, has been signing players himself, is 100% on the governance of the board. Imagine you had a job where nobody ever told you no, would you make good decisions all of the time and restrain yourself in terms of buying whatever you wanted? Brands is a joke, and by signing a new contract shows he doesn't give AF about being overruled, but he never stood a chance. The administration of this club is a horror show from the board down.

Inappropriate Language
Can't fault the fella for the money he's put in, and I think he has our best interests at heart, but he's made so many fundamental mistakes, that really go against his business and accounting background completely.

Allowing Kenwright, DBB, unsworth, Ferguson and the rest of the old boys network of useless wage thieve's to remain at the club was mistake one. They all should have been punted as soon as he walked in - new broom sweeps clean. I doubt hes kept previous management at other businesses he's bought?

Appointing crap DoFs who he didn't ensure had total control of transfers and football strategy, and instead either Moshiri or the [Poor language removed] managers like ronko or Silva actually deciding who to buy makes no sense - I still can't believe that siggurdson is our record signing FFS.

He should have broke the bank for monchi on day one, and we wouldn't be in this mess.

Hiring Benitez is another poor call imo, but one I really hope works out.

I've had enough of everton and the way the club has been run - I'll still be going the match and getting behind the lads of course, but the club and senior management are a joke, and I just CBA with the bollocks anymore.

Just get BMD over the line Moshiri - that's a decent legacy to leave behind, and if it's done as promised then Evertonians will always be grateful but he won't be fondly remembered for his football acumen or decisions relating to on the pitch matters.
