Why would he take over negotiations? That's why he employs people, if they are no good at their job, which if elstone doesn't improve then he will be replacedIf Mr Moshiri takes over negotiations for all revenue streams, why is he even staying?

Sorry, I meant looong term. It was noticeable that it was Elstone that was on the 6 o'clock news giving an interview about the 30 quid away supporter tickets.Doesn't look like he is going anywhere does it? Sure it's only been a day or two, but he seems to be staying.
Like I said we live in hope, he has said he will look at the stadium options and I hope that is his priority as it has been dragging on for far too long. But technically he has promised extra money and to get the stadium sorted, what else could he do? Realistically?
So Mr Moshiri is going to bring his contacts to Everton and have Robert Elstone negotiate with them? Yeh doubt it.Why would he take over negotiations? That's why he employs people, if they are no good at their job, which if elstone doesn't improve then he will be replaced
Bear in mind that a few months ago we got a new commercial team (Alan McTavish and a couple of others), so although Mr Moshiri will have the final say, I think we have started the process of preparing to bring merchandising and hospitality in-house again. If Mr Moshiri takes over negotiations for all revenue streams, why is he even staying?
A new boss comes the place you work, he isn't just going to start sacking people left right and centre is he?So Mr Moshiri is going to bring his contacts to Everton and have Robert Elstone negotiate with them? Yeh doubt it.
Shirt sponsorship, Umbro deal etc etc. Business contacts of Mr Moshiri who hopefully we attract. If Elstone is no good why keep him then?Bear in mind that a few months ago we got a new commercial team (Alan McTavish and a couple of others), so although Mr Moshiri will have the final say, I think we have started the process of preparing to bring merchandising and hospitality in-house again.
That not what I said.A new boss comes the place you work, he isn't just going to start sacking people left right and centre is he?
No but it's the same thing isn't it?, Moshiri will have to give Elstone time and if and when he notices he isn't up to it then he goes, he isn't just going to sack him based on the thoughts of some of the fan baseThat not what I said.
Shirt sponsorship, hopefully Mr Moshiri does have a contact who is interested, the Umbro deal I admit I know little about it, but I would imagine that if the merchandise is brought back in house successfully, the higher volume of shirt sales would mean we could command a higher price.Shirt sponsorship, Umbro deal etc etc. Business contacts of Mr Moshiri who hopefully we attract. Hasn't shown anything in his time here to convince me, or most I am guessing. I wouldn't want him in any revenue negotiation.Shirt sponsorship, hopefully Mr Moshiri does have a contact who is interested, the Umbro deal I admit I know little about it, but I would imagine that if the merchandise is brought back in house successfully, the higher volume of shirt sales would mean we could command a higher price.
The thought behind my initial post was I wonder if Elstone is good enough and can he stay on given that his argument would be he was restricted in what he could do by the club's finances.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of his.Hasn't shown anything in his time here to convince me, or most I am guessing. I wouldn't want him in any revenue negotiation.
Call me naive, but when you have sponsors offering more to put their name on your shirt and you chose the lesser option, how does it matter if he has a wealthy shareholder now at the club?Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of his.
I'm acting Devil's advocate, and just wondering if he is beyond redemption.
It may be interesting to see how his negotiation skills are like when starting from a position of strength.
And yet I got called out for being negative!!I don't see why people are so keen to raise their skirts to Moshiri.
Really the fans are the custodians of the club, as fans go generally (ignores Rafael poll) we're no mugs and this guy has a lot to prove, it's good to be hopeful, but the onus is on him.
I'll remain patient but he has it all to prove, even if we splurge in the summer the real reckoning will be in a year or so time.
