I read it as: "I do the heavy lifting of financing and strategy; Kenwright and Elstone run the core business".

Take Elstone out of the equation and that's not a bad way to run a club.

Words are cheap though.

Yea, I understand the cynicism. Cynicism's probably a bit of a strong word, but it'll do.

We'll get a flavour of how things may turn out this Summer but it'll probably take two or three years for us all to start believing this is the real thing. We've heard so much b/s over the years that we've been almost brainwashed into believing it'll never get better.

Hope is stronger than fear though, and I believe we're moving into an era where we can start to realistically hope for something better.

Nice that Len Deighton has agreed to ghost write your posts from now on Dave ! But seriously, you're near enough right......
He's a creature of his time. steve. Made his wedge in the wild west of post-Communist era Russia. He looks every bit the refined English gent now, but I bet he has some tales to tell.

I'm sure we will. What we dont want though is jam tomorrow on the non-football side of things and maximum interference on the footy side of the club. TBF, if today's statement is anything to go by it wont be.

Wrong time wrong place mate. You needed to be in the Former Soviet Union in the 90s - the period when *ahem* "entrepreneurs" like Usmanov and Abramovic were *ahem* "creating" loads of value from *ahem* "liberated state assets", aided and abetted by *ahem* "security consultants" from Spetsnaz and other *ahem* "market oriented" gentlemen from Mother Russia's military machine.
You been hanging round Finch Farm, Dave?

Wariness perhaps?
Going into change cautiously isn't a bad thing, particular when you consider the stagnation we're moving from, but also the relative stability that having someone we know cares desperately about the club in charge.
Moving to someone who we don't know and haven't experienced the modus operandi of is always going to be somewhat scary.

Just musing here, but I wonder if Robert Elstone may well have the cojones to tough this out and remain as CEO long term.
The guy is slick in his presentation (the spat with Joe Anderson being the exception) and could probably fire the defence that Kitbag and Sodexo were the only true options the club had under his tenure (think Keith Wyness did both of the deals or at the very least all preparatory work). Chang is a bit of a weird one as it smacks of laziness, and power8 was embarassing.
So will Mr Moshiri see something that we don't and give Elstone time?

Doesn't look like he is going anywhere does it? Sure it's only been a day or two, but he seems to be staying.

Aye, wariness is a better word.

I'd compare it to finding a new girlfriend. When you've been dumped on and are middle aged you'd be wary of getting hurt again whereas someone younger would be more likely to see the positives.

In my head, dave's late middle aged, scared of commitment and has been hurt often before, but is still hopeful of finding the right woman.

I may have said too much
