We've finished 7th, 8th, 8th, 12th & 10th under Moshiri in which prior to him coming in we had finished 11th & 11th.

We haven't won a trophy in 27 years and have been in the bottom 6 more than the top 4 in the PL era.

Expectations have increased as our fans largely accepted we were tosh whereas now even though the squads bang average we believe we should be fighting for top 6 based on Moshiri's investment.
We hadn't won a trophy in 21 years when Moshiri took over and in the 6 years since we've reached 2 SFs (in his first few months in charge so before he'd put any money in), and are now in a relegation battle.

He's done good things, he's done bad things. His last appointment was the worst of the lot because he went against all the advice (apart from KJ's) to appoint Benitez, who turned us from the safe mid-table to European challenging team that we'd been, into an absolute wreck of a squad, and Moshiri 'backed' him by getting rid of everyone else at the club.

FFP wise, we are in the crap because Moshiri kept throwing good money after bad. Just because he's thrown that money in doesn't mean he gets credit. Anyway, let's hope they realise there's need for a massive reset. And no, that's not relegation, because if we get relegated, the club in the short term is finished.

Perhaps we would of been had football people been listened to. I didn't blame Moshiri at the start for flexing his muscles in the media and buying who he fancied... but once it was clear he didn't have a clue, he should of stepped back and listened to what was being said by everybody and anybody with an ounce of common sense.
500 million and 16th.

That needed to still be done mate.

You and I have both moaned about Brands/the recruitment and our fitness team.

You can't have your cake and eat it. You cant demand blood and then when it happens get all sentimental and post #Je Suis Donachie etc. Regardless of Benitez people had to be booted and im glad it happened and hopefully the new manager brings some good people in with him!

It was only done because of the poor results on the pitch that were on Benitez. That's because the fans protested because of the crap results/performances.

By all means get rid of Brands, but don't do it in the middle of the season and hand all the power to Benitez, which is what they did.

We haven't had it so good since the PL Era began.

Results wise under Moyes of course but in terms of ownership we could only dream of £500 million invested in players and a £500+ million stadium on the docks under Agent Johnson / Kenwright with no fears of financial oblivion.

The only reason our fans are so angry is because Moshiri's investment has increased expectations.
You don't half chat some utter wham.

Club is in a relegation fight after hiring a manager you wanted so you can't admit what a disaster this is.

And if we finish the season 11th with Lampard as manager and Cahill/another DOF installed all the cry arsing will stop.

Hence why I would rather wait and see how the season unfolds instead of chucking my rattle out the pram!

And we still have 18 games to go! People are kacking themselves half a season in.

We won't go down but when were we last in this position past the half way point of the season and going into February? FWIW Lampard will probably have a new manager effect and get us mid table.

Hardly 'never had it so good' though.

Bad seasons happen - Brighton are apparently well run and have a manager and DOF we could only dream of yet finished 16th last season - both would have had bottles lobbed at em by our fans if they rocked up here and finished 16th come the end of the season!!!

Aston Villa another club who we all envy stayed up by a dodgy goal line tech malfunction and you didnt see their fans carry on like ours have against their owners.

You could go on and on, unless you're one of the "big 6" there is always the potential for a bad season like this as there is for us to fluke a 5th spot like under Martinez.

Both of those comparisons are teams that were promoted from the Championship in the last 5 years. Of course they have been finishing at the bottom of the table.

Everton should not be anywhere near 16th you melt.

What's Brighton's budget compared to ours? What's their wage bill, how much have they spent on their squad? 16th won't be far off where they should be. Even so 16th was a real anomaly in terms of their performances, football and XG, they just didn't have a goalscorer/were unfortunate. Problem with Everton is bad football as well.

A spell in The Championship (preceded by several relegation battles) has humbled Villa. They seem to be on the right track at last.
