Defo good thing Usmanov not officially involved with us. sure they would have made measures to fit our circumstances if he had, below are those imposed on Chelsea
not sure it has massive impact on them but is aimed at stopping any profit being generated for Abramovich from what I can understand, although seems like stable door and horse?

What does the special licence mean for Chelsea?

Here are some of the key points from the special licence put in place by the government:
  • Chelsea are able to pay the wages of all employees, including players and coaching staff.
  • They can pay "reasonable" costs of travel to and from fixtures but not exceeding £20,000 per game per team.
  • Pay "reasonable" costs towards hosting home fixtures, not exceeding £500,000 per fixture per team.
  • Fans who bought season tickets or individual match tickets before 10 March 2022 can attend games.
  • Broadcasters can broadcast any fixture involving the club.

There is a silver lining, many wanted Usmanov to invest take over, Looking at what’s just happened to chelsea it good he didn’t. I know he had sponsorship connections but I don’t believe usmanov owned any of Everton.
Thing is people wanted anyone, they didnt care who it was as long as it wasnt Bill, thats how we got into this mess. Dont get me wrong i wanted him too sell to, but him selling has been a disaster, he should of hung on, but the fans wouldnt of accepted it

I get what you are saying, maybe hanging on would be stretching the point a little, it shows to me, no matter how much due diligence is performed in regards to backgrounds that is irrelevant when it comes to the day to day running of a club once that person is involved.

Moshiri is the perfect example, as was Lerner at Villa and the Blackburn guy too, name escapes me for now.

While I blame Bill for lots of false dawns at Everton, not sure how much he could have known just how incompetent Moshiri was? Am i being too kind to Bill?

Right, close the forum and the rest of the internet down because none of us have control over anything.

You can discuss something but you're like a dog with a bone mate and cant accept others have a difference of opinion on the current ownership.

We get it that you hate Moshiri and thats fair enough, but whats harping on about him 24/7 and attacking anyone who disagrees with you going to achieve in the grand scheme of things?

If you feel that strongly about things go protest outside The Liver Buildings and make your voice heard.

Because your opinion boils down to “he’s spent loads of money lad” which is so childish it burns my head out.

So we now owe Moshiri close to a billion pound in exchange for giving us the worst squad of players I’ve seen in my lifetime, seeing off 7 managers and potentially relegating us for the first time in our post-war history? Wow thanks Mosh, not all heroes wear capes.

At least Abramovich has given Chelsea their most successful period of their entire existence in exchange for the debt they now owe him.
Not in anyway trying to defend him at all, apart from the new ground his ownership has been an unmitigated disaster, and I may well be wrong but ….. do we actually “owe” him?
No doubt someone will correct me but has he not converted his loans (or the majority of them) into shares in the club? If this is the case (?), surely he will only ever get back what he can actually sell those shares for?
I’ve always been pretty convinced that as soon as BMD was built he’d sell up anyway, but I suspect he hadn’t anticipated the possible prospect of championship football and his mate’s mate steaming into Ukraine and the sanctions that followed!

So many issues for Chelsea now going forward, cant say im sorry for them but the wider ramifications are huge.

Any sale, now if allowed under a Special License, no proceeds can go to Abramovich, no biggie to be honest but anyone know how this would affect potential buyers or future of Chelsea as a Club.

also as of today Chelsea are NOT allowed to sell any more match day tickets other than those sold already or Season Ticket holders.

Edit* Chelsea are deemed to have 28k Season Ticket holders with a near 42K Ground Capacity. massive hit on Revenue again.

This from someone who wouldn't have a bad word said against Benitez. lol

How many of these none state running billionaires have guided clubs to success?

Not including Leicester who's owners have links to royalty in Thailand Roman Abramovich thats it and that was prior to FFP.

To succeed these days you need an owner who can use sponsers to get around FFP - Man City do it, PSG do it, we were planning to do it with BMD/USM and the league were talking about trying to prevent the Saudi's at Newcastle doing it.

Bill Gates could buy us tomorrow but he cant spend much of his dough on us unless one of his mates is happy to sponsor us for massive amounts of money which isn't happening.
No you don’t, look at Fulham for example, a billionaire family who invest in the club while having stokes in fires elsewhere (American Football and Wrestling)

Yeah because flirting around the European spots was terrible, thank.god Moshiri has come into rescue us
It would have been so easy to just maintain that. We have saw teams surpass us for those places in the years that have followed. All we needed to do was not buy terrible players, we managed that with no money.

I don't see why Chelsea should be given any form of dispensation. They are an asset of Roman Abramovich, and his assets are supposed to have been frozen. It's supposed to be illegal for anyone to do business with an Abramaovich owned business in the UK or abroad. They clearly can't function as a football club, so they should be booted out of the league and there should only be two relegation places this season.

Scenes when we finish 19th below Watford now.
