Bit of both I'd imagine. If Usmanov was his benefactor behind the scenes then he's basically got no money to do anything with us. We're also a basket case on the pitch so it's not like he can rely on us finishing mid table comfortably for a few seasons and being profitable while he waits to see if things change in the world. Just burning a hole in his pocket now aren't we? Especially with relegation looking a real possibility my guess is he can't wait to get out now

The value of the club is effectively zero if relegated. We have £400m of spending commitments and a £500m stadium to build.

FM is going to have to eat a huge loss, he either accepts it is going to happen and sells the club now for £1 or we turn into Derby County when he can't cover the losses next season.

Whoever buys is liable for literally hundreds of millions in losses guaranteed so will need very deep pockets.
