There was always going to be a restructure of sorts, just didnt expect Elstone to be part of that.

Hopefully once these things are clicking into place we start seeing movement on other key areas like stadium.

Guys can I have a reminder of why he is called suntan bob and why everton fans don't like him?

All I can rememebr is that he studied at Hull and his teeth is white

This is where you lose people.

Done a good job in getting Moshiri?

Absolutely

An Everton legend?

Not in a million years
All about opinions don't know if you remember the peter Johnson era but most on here will and to me with every little money has stabilised everton been moderately successful and quite possibly led US to the promised land!,

I remember the Kenwright Joining the board in 89 and us being incredibly unsuccessful ever since.

Elstone is saying CEO, the change is he is now a director of the Company. No great change to be honest as he's been a board member for some time.

Ryazantsev has been a reasonably senior banker in his past life, no doubt has worked on other Moshiri transactions previously.

Suggests to me there's going to be quite a lot of corporate restructuring to be done at Everton, no doubt including debt or possibly some bond financing relating to the Capex requirements of a new stadium or a redeveloped stadium. This has to be a positive, we've been desperately short of a good finance man/woman at Everton for many a year.

It's going to be interesting times ahead. Mr Moshiri is ringing the changes.

i understood a little of what you said... but sounds good to me i think? :)

I don't understand the level of dislike for Elstone. I am not sure exactly what people expected from him.
We didn't have the funds for a new stadium and the club traded competently in recent years within the financial in which it found itself. I expect that Moshiri and his team had a lot of interaction with Robert Elstone during the recent negotiations and they liked what they saw. Otherwise I think we would have seen his role lessen .

As Esk has already said becoming a director is not a huge change to the role/s that he already filled at the club. It is however a big endorsement from our new main man.
The other appointment is much more significant. It is an appointment of a financial heavy hitter. It is an appointment of one of Moshiris allies and further tightens his grip on the club.
As @Esk has already said it may be an appointment geared towards a financial restructure, but it also could be an appointment which could act as a Launchpad for attracting other investors.

Either way, I think we may well have moved onto the A game.

I think those that were hoping for revolution and a throwing out of the old guard will be disappointed but this is going to be evolution not revolution.

The appointment of a senior banker suggests some complex financial structuring ahead which must be related to the stadium - new or redeveloped. That has to be a positive.

It may pave the way for other investors also.

Because the man is a utter idiot.

Signed a deal with kitbag making it out to be massive for the club when it was one of the worst deals in the premier league.

Signed a deal with a fake Spanish firm because he couldn't be bothered looking further In to it

Decided not to cancel the deal with kitbag despite it being woeful.

His commercial deals have been generally awful to a boot.

Exactly, sensible steps being taken to move us from being Bill's toy to being a proper big hitting commercial football club.......

I hope you are right about the investors bit mate... im sure we all do.

as long as it moves the club forward i dont really mind, the club is what is important and maybe a lot of people are being harsh on Elstone, look what he had to work with.... hopefully things will change for the better and who knows in 12 months time we may be praising Elstone for the good work he has done :D

My total experience in finance is over twenty years and before my roles in the City, I held various positions at a Russian metals and mining and financial conglomerate in both Moscow and London, focusing on raising international finance and managing a diversified investment portfolio across asset classes.

I am a freelance professional adviser focusing on due diligence, capital structure and balance sheet review of companies in the technology, mineral resources and football.

from the bio on Ryasantsev, from that i'm gathering he has worked for Moshiri before and have a past relationship as almost certain that the Russian metals and mining company will be Mettaloinvest, another bit from the bio would suggest that R&W holdings used him at some stage of the Arsenal share buying process or at leats he was involved in that area as well.

Gueesing here but sounds like someone that both Moshiri and Usmanov have utilised on numerous occasions together and seperately
