I don't understand the level of dislike for Elstone. I am not sure exactly what people expected from him.
We didn't have the funds for a new stadium and the club traded competently in recent years within the financial in which it found itself. I expect that Moshiri and his team had a lot of interaction with Robert Elstone during the recent negotiations and they liked what they saw. Otherwise I think we would have seen his role lessen .
As Esk has already said becoming a director is not a huge change to the role/s that he already filled at the club. It is however a big endorsement from our new main man.
The other appointment is much more significant. It is an appointment of a financial heavy hitter. It is an appointment of one of Moshiris allies and further tightens his grip on the club.
As @Esk has already said it may be an appointment geared towards a financial restructure, but it also could be an appointment which could act as a Launchpad for attracting other investors.
Either way, I think we may well have moved onto the A game.
I think it's because he has been involved in the more unsavoury episodes of our recently history such as the DK and other failed proposals, others may feel that it is his perceived dishonesty or misdirection in his answers at the AGM's or even the commercial deals negotiated.
Lets face it his given plenty or reasons
I hope that now we can get a CEO who can really drive the club forward and deliver on the off field projects as well as bring in the required quality to the 1st team to really push on.
New era so let be positive
