@The Esk would Moshiri hold enough influence/power in the board to get shut of the manager? I ask as it's clear if this fella has the dream of seeing us as a top team then it's becoming increasingly clear we'll never do it under Roberto, but would he have the control to do so or can Kenwright veto such a move?

Good question mate . I'm inclined to believe that yes, he wields sufficient power to remove Martinez should he believe it appropriate to do so.

I thought his non committal look last week when Bill was waxing lyrically about Martinez spoke volumes to be honest.

Who was the guy sitting next to him today? Not Jon woods but the other side

Yeah. Me and my brother were just having this same discussion actually. I would say with him only being an investor he wouldn't have that power - but he could talk bill around of couurse - but then he's technically an owner.

Personally, martinez track record of signings is amazing, i have no worries about the calibre of player he'd sign and attract to our club, like he did with lukaku - and then will our star players like lukaku (who he convinced to join the club), barkley (whom he gave his first real chances too and has built him as a massive part of the team, deulofeu (who he again convinced) and stones (another who he gave his first big breakthrough) - would they be happy if he went and wanted to follow?

suppose i'm drifting off topic here, but people need to consider more than just the on-field problems by wanting him gone.

yes.

Well I am going to say it.

I don't care about all this negativity regarding Martinez. Four home league wins in 12 months. Players possibly leaving us. Etc Etc.

Mr Moshiri gives me the confidence going forward that whatever will be will be. He will get it right.

Positivity here...

there is some sense around here then.

When you consider Lukaku's interview today, Del on the bench for the last couple of months, and Stones dropped and clearly showing signs that he has not been given the right coaching, I'd say they would be delighted if he was sent packing and that there would be a much greater chance of them staying.

Mourinho brought Costa and Fabregas to Chelsea. A manager bringing players in does not necessarily equate to them wanting to play for that manager and no-one else.

Was thinking this earlier today mate.
All this about him bringing on the young team and patience is proving to be a crock.
Ruining Stones. Ruining Deulofeu (who was the best winger in the league the first part f the season now can't get a game). Lukaku is just world class.

Stones is the best (worst ?) example for me. He is going to be (already is) a top defender yet he isn't being taught the basics of the art, which is that there is a time and a place to 'get rid' and a time and a place not to.

I could not blame him one iota for wanting to progress somewhere else next season rather than continue with the status quo. That is unless a different manager came in with some sort of clue about the art of defending. Then there might just be a chance that he'd stay.

All and any of our "young guns".

And people complain Mourinho would be no good here. Absolute rubbish. Not that he would touch us with a bargepole, but to say Martinez is better for them than the likes of Jose is a pathetic statement.

But I'm still staying positive Mr Moshiri will get it right in the end. We may feel pain for a season or two, but we had no future before his arrival anyway.
