….bit of a conflict of interest, his daughter now regularly presenting the BBC news and Everton’s takeover getting some headlines. I wonder if she actually knows what’s really happening;

his wife has also been caught recently flipping off Everton fans

Someone somewhere will want their money back, I don't know from a legal standpoint we can shield ourselves away from that and say not our problem. Can't see it somehow, we aren't that lucky.

However I guess we didn't have to pay any interest on that 200m so it has been beneficial to us whatever. It's allowed the stadium to be on the verge of completion (in the next couple of months it will look done) so potential investors don't have to worry whether it will be finished or will costs rise further to get it built which they would have been liable for. Also we are a year forward to then being able to try and refinance the stadium debt with legitimate lenders who much prefer to see things fully functional before handing out the cash for the very same reasons.

You could therefore call it far better than the MSP and R&M loans where we've incurred large costs for using. Obviously this was by accident as I think everybody thought the deal would have gone through before Christmas, but we may have had a little bit of good fortune this time - as long as we actually have the funds to finish what we need to from here.
Thank you, appreciate your response.

It makes a great deal of sense. Not something we see much of from Everton these days. Maybe, just Maybe Moshiri has played them a bit!

The Board consisted of Chairman Kenwright, CEO DBB and FD Grant Ingles. It was their job to police and manage the PSR. Moshiri just provided the money. They wasted and mismanaged it. Moshiri may have been gullible/naive in keeping Kenwright and allowing the absolute disgraceful decision in appointing DBB, but like it or not he changed the club for better or worse. There is no denying the absolute waste of money spent on players by managers who then couldn’t get a tune out of them while drawing us down the table.

But let’s try and remember where we were before Moshiri. GP looked and indeed was a tip with no sign of any improvement. There was not a cat in hells chance that we would ever have been playing in a magnificent stadium in an iconic position. Yes we can look at todays problems and just blame Moshiri, but world affairs played their part at just the wrong moment in time. Whatever happens now Moshiri will walk away with an awful lot less money than when he arrived. Bill did alright financially , DBB walked away with millions, no supporters have lost any money and we still get the Stadium we’ve been needing since the 80’s. Even with an unparalleled points deduction we end the season in a more relaxed place than we have for a while. Are we in a better place or a worse place ?……..
As much as I am loathe to give him any credit, when you see it written down like your response, then I can see a small chink of goodwill towards him.

Now, he just needs to call time on 777 and let the others play their hand.

A fair post Pete🙏

…I don’t think that’s his wife.
It's not, Azadeh Moshiri (his daughter) is on the BBC news a fair bit, mostly the verify stuff, she has covered some of the covid stuff. That's Maryam Moshiri she is totally unrelated although she is Iranian born and bred.

Sorry mate, im going to pull this for rebuttle.

First paragraph is absolutely, not the case. In fact its the opposite. The board were a puppet board, paid very well to execute the shareholders decisions. Its always themoney mate the money makes the decisions, the portraying of Moshiri as the victim or have a go hero taken advantage is part of the problem We've been far to tolerent of him. His and his decisions alone have run us into the ground, everyone else was a well paid Patsey.

We could have built BMD at any point of our history -he hasnt build it - club has been loaded with debt to do it, other just felt it was too much of a risk to do - and in alll honesty it probably is has been.

There is nothing better off about Everton since Moshiri took over, everything hes torched has crumbled.

Worst thing to ever happen to this club.

You can be thankful to Moshiri for BMD but also think he's a absolute clown. To say he 'just provided the money' just isn't true, are you suggesting he had no input into signings/ managerial appointments etc? Think it's pretty well known he was involved in such decisions during a period of time. It just seems like revisionism to suggest otherwise.

Going from one of the best man managers in world football to arguably the worse in Benitez sums up how clueless they were, that includes Bill for letting them get away with hiring FSW in the first place

Yeah, I mean….

Thanks for the millions you wasted.

Thanks for the millions in debt you piled on the club.

I guess it was all worth it for those seasons where we barely beat relegation due to mismanagement.

Sure there are others to blame. Surely the management should have see the PSR charges coming. But the genesis of all of these issues is overspending on mediocre talent well beyond our means and the constant revolving door of mediocre managers (save Ancelotti). That is on the guy who controls the purse strings.

Moshiri has been a disaster. But kenwright found him and is More to blame for our demise over the last 20 odd years. Rafael was linked with the job for a few years before he got it and i remember the echo journilsts and journalists close to him, saying not a chance he gets the job, so why didn’t he resign from his position and the rest of the board if they were getting under-mind by moshiri.

Because nobody else is paying DBB a million a year

Do we know this to be so?

I'd imagined interest would be due on those payments, until the takeover was completed at least?

To be clear, I want you to be right - and hope you are - but my natural assumption was that we'd be paying punitive interest on that until it was converted into equity post-takeover.
