I think this is a bit of a myth.

Moshiri was a (large) investor on the company that bought the Liverpool Buildings. (Corestate)

Everton pay rent to that company.

The "Everton owner buys Royal Liver Buildings" was good fun to wind up the neighbours.

Probably why the scruffy orcs were shooting fireworks at it.

Oh i thought Moshiri had bought it

He was doomed from the off once he retained Kenwright, and probably had to under the deal they struck.

I dont think he would have done any better on his own though and to say Kenwright restrained his worst excesses would be pure fallacy. They were a near-lethal cocktail put together.

Moshiri bore more responsibility but the two of them brought the club to this point.

He came in. He had high hopes. He gave us high hopes. A problem in itself.

Wasn't afraid to make decisions. Though too often ill advised or went it alone (perhaps due to arrogance or the feeling he was being ill advised).

He never got the structure right. Especially on decision making and strategy.

Relied too much on being able to spend his way out of mistakes (with what he saw as infinite backing). Perhaps, overestimated his financial jiggery pokery skills and underestimated the power of the PL.
Geopolitical effects and government actions underestimated.

I truly think he had a vision and a will to make us BIG again.

The Liver building, the stadium, the big name signings (players and managers) all speak for that.

The Plan was missing. The structure, his self and the circumstances around him didn't allow it.

I'll never forgive the employment of the FSW though.

His legacy is for all to see right now. The docks and the city are blue again. That's not to be underestimated.

If somebody had said that after his tenure we'd have a Stadium on the Mersey. We'd own the Liver building and still be playing in the PL. I think most would have been happy (perhaps more than).

The rest of his legacy remains to be seen.

But, the hope is awake again.

It's the hope that kills us. That's why we're Evertonians. That's what we live for.

Farhad. Thanks for the ride. Thanks for giving us our City back. Time to get off now. There's a new Rollercoaster of hope to try.

PS: we'll send you an invite to the open top parade in 2026. Cheers.

Lovely words tellmema.

I doubt it will happen due to his links to Usmanov, but I would be delighted if the club were to honour him at the new stadium. I wouldnt go as far as naming a stand after him, I do however think a statue or plaque at the entrance to the ground would be appropriate.

Fans underestimate just how much the new stadium will help us. Without Moshiri = no BMD.

We were just in a third relegation battle in a row and we were docked points because of his inept operating of the club and you want everton to honor him? How about the moshiri urinals with his face on each one?

Spot on..... When you think about what went on with our previous stadium expedition..... No taking away the fact that Farhad has left a real legacy.

Financial genius writ large ; wouldn't trust him with a barge poll the incompetent fool.

“Through that group, 777 is providing its clubs with access to world-class tools to support their football operations and global commercial opportunities. It is my belief that this expertise, combined with the collective strength of the clubs within the group, is what makes 777 the right fit for Everton.”

World-class tools is right.

There are two types of people in this world, those who can foresee the end goal of a given situation, and those who can only see the here and now.

How people view Moshiri is very telling as to what category they fall under. I seen it again with the fans who wanted the two Evertonians to take over the club. They could not answer how B&D could finance the club 3,5,8,10 years+ from now, all they thought about was being "saved" by people who "get" us as they only see the present.

There are more than 2 types of people in this world.

What a stupid thing to say.
