Find it interesting neither the club or Moores went public on it, was it guesswork by the original Mail journo who got the buyer wrong. The Kansas fella did say there were other interested parties so they dropped out.

They didn't get the buyer wrong. The Americans story was true and they did due diligence, it didn't happen because Everton ultimately turned them down.

It seems like the two of them are best buds and do everything together. It is weird that they've separated... maybe the bigger dawg really will come and buy the remaining 50.1% and the two of them are gonna turn us not into the next man city, but the next real madrid.
I might be suspect of wishful thinking.

According to a Dutch paper and a goodle translate (@Dutch Toffee please correct is translation wrong!), he originally wanted 75%

The Iranian businessman Farhad Moshiri bought almost half of the shares of Everton. Billionaire actually wanted in exchange for 250 million euros for 75 percent ownership of the club from Liverpool. Eventually, he has 49.9 percent of the shares received in hands. It is not known how many have received from Everton Moshiri.

The Premier League must still approve the deal. Moshiri sold last Friday, though its share in Arsenal. He promised to strengthen Everton in the summer with a number of new players.

Anyone who doesn't think this has been a momentous day in the history of our club needs to give their head a wobble

Usmanov's right hand man has bought a stake that is an effective controlling interest despite the tokenism and dare I say - theatre - of the 49.9% equity stake announcement today.

The reality of what that means - due to the thousands of small shareholders - is zip in terms of stopping the new effective owner from leading the decision making at our club.

It's a massive game changer for the club, we now have someone who wants to drive the business forward - both on and off the pitch - and more importantly has the wherewithal, expertise and the financial ability to deliver.
