Take a look at the league table.

Leicester top. Spurs 2nd.

The goalposts are shifting, no longer do the same 4 teams have their noses in the money troph as the CL finances become less significant with the increase across the league in TV money.

Mr Moshiri and Usmanov have been trying in vain for years to have more say in the running of Arsenal. How it is financed and how to treat the fans or customers as the bells across the park are referred to.

They wanted a club who had community, home grown players and figurehead signings playing in a self sustainable, state of the art stadium.

Could that focus now be Everton. We have the academy, history and potential fan Base. The stadium could go ahead and we do not require a massive squad overhaul.

No guarantee but what if this deal today paves the way for Mr Usmanov to come here too.

Interesting times ahead that is for sure.

At least we can put one of the most tired conspiracy theories to bed with this: moshiri is worth over a billion and therefore probably doesn't really care about selling half season tickets
And he won't pay for transfers with curly wurlies. He doesn't have the arteta money. He's not arsed about lawnmowers.

We have huge potential. We are every bit as successful as Arsenal, historic as in being in the league, trophies won etc. We do not have as wealthy a fan base but I imagine some of that can be overcome by bringing in new supporters/commercial clients for boxes. (the reality is most boxes are filled by businesses who want to associate to your brand).

While London is the capital, it is a very stagnated area. You have two football league teams in the area of Merseyside, which is 1/8 of the size of London. Currently in London you have Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham (when the new Stadium is built) in direct and serious competition.

There are then a plethora of clubs such as Palace, Charlton, QPR, Fulham etc. It may have just been a tactical decision.

Wouldnt say 'need' assistance but id be surprised if he never brought a few of his rich mates along to buy the rest of the shares.

I'd say you have 3 possibilities with this.
1) Moshiri fancied going it alone and breaking from from Usmanovs wings.

2) Usmanov is trying to pressure Arsenal into selling to him. He gets his friend to invest in another club as a warning.

3) They have both become frustrated by Arsenal Moshiri goes in initially to secure control and stop the club being sold elsewhere. Usmanov looks to move on from Arsenal in due course.

Only time will tell. But frankly, in all honesty if it's number 3 nothing will stop him funnelling money into Everton. We have been bankrolled unoffically by silent partners like Green for years. Fifa is an awash of corruption. While it shouldn't happen it will. Usmanov will have got around worse scrapes than the FA premier league rules in his time!
