The wiping of the debt this week was a pre-cursor to the acquisition of more shares later this year. This was a condition that had to be met.

The capital injection, although not insignificant, will not be enough to secure the services of more than one marquee signing.

Further additions will require sales, JS & RL being those players.

Presume this would be a condition creditors would look to have been done before a fresh injection of finance for a large project for example. The clearing of debts I mean.

He will buy lots more shares, increasing his % of ownership to around 75%.

He has the option to buy the shares of Bill Kenwright, John Woods and Arthur Abercromby. i.e. they have to sell to him if he asks. If he does so that would take his shareholding to just over 75%, giving him total control of the club.

Going back a few years, well, about 30, wasnt Abercromby on the United board? They deffo had an Abercromby involved; customer of mine knew him and asked me if I needed tickets for the United/Everton cup final, the Whiteside one.
