Well, he's not in the business of losing money I imagine, so like all Billionaires, he'll be after a profit. It's clear he's not a lifelong Evertonian & that's okay by me because both parties can win here. We can get the sorely needed investment in the squad & Stadium, and he might walk away with a tidy profit once a rejuvenated Everton is sold.

This, top post.

Not entirely true, for your average billionaire yes but those worth around what Sheikh Mansour and Roman Abramavich are can afford to spend £500+ million of their own cash on transfers, offering £150k+ a week contracts, something Moshiri simply wouldn't do considering he would be giving away 1/3 of his entire wealth to what is a business for him.

That's my point to win the league and be the best you need that kind of wealth. Wolves have just spent €25 million apparantly on a player and they are in the championship, now I'm not saying long term they will be a top club but a rich owner who has £5 billion+ is more likely to spend more than one worth £1-1.5 billion.

But he doesnt have to spend 500m, where are you getting that figure from?

The club makes money and the club has the potential to make larger sums of money.

Roman bought Chelsea 13 years ago and in that time he has "invested" over 1 billion into the club.

So yes, no way will Moshiri "invest" that amount, but he doesnt need to, he just needs to open up different cashflow streams into the club, in terms of a new stadium, better commercial and sponsorship deals.

Its not about money, its about how the club is run, Arsenal have a major shareholder worth vastly more than Roman and hes not even allowed near the board room.

Yep, for the first time in a very, very long time, we can actually say we've got someone in charge now with proper business acumen.

We can improve our commercial appeal as much as we want, but it will never allow us to compete with the best.

I don't get why this is so hard for you to understand, we can become a consistent top 10 premier league side if we incorporate a better business model, but we will never challenge for the Premier League and Champions League unless we get a sugar daddy pumping hundreds of millions into the club.

You talk about improving sponsorship and commercial deals - but you can only achieve this if you're a european power house.

City have spent upwards to a billion on transfers, and only since then they have obtained record sponsorship and kit deals. Man United are the biggest football club in asia - so they are cemented with a huge commercial income.

Chelsea are worth £1.2bn now.
