Sell Felli. Play the kids. Finish 10th. Win the League Cup.

I'd take that.

"Hoarding" was probably a strong word

"Save and then get cold feet once they have saved it" is probably a less inflamatory stance

Which is something they've never done....

If he goes (& I think he will) the cash will go back into the playing squad. I don't see Martinez being as cautious in the market as Moyes, I fully expect him to act quickly & bring in 2 or 3 with the cash raised.

Just wanted to clarify this a bit further.

I just feel replacing a player we generally play as a forward with a midfielder weakens our already insanely weak forward line.

However, if it's sell Fellaini and replace with a midfielder AND a decent forward. Then yeah. That makes more sense.

we'll surely have some sort of funds other than felli's sale? (i really don't think he'll choose arsenal) that we'll use on a striker. also whatever fee we get for him i think would be enough to buy his replacement and another position.

think it's more to do with people knowing that his role shouldn't be as an attacker. if we sell him and bring in just a striker then that means osman playing centre midfield though!

i'd like fer or someone of that ilk, box-to-box is what we need, not a defensive minded replacement like onazi or a purely attack minded midfielder like honda

Honest question, how many have actually seen Fer play who are saying him, and i don mean youtube montages, i means streamed their games etc, he isnt that great, just looks pretty good in a poor league

I've seen more than a bit of him and have been impressed every single time.

Someone reminded me that they waited till the last day of the window for Mikel so this could be the case again, try and undo their rivals.

That's a good point.

By all accounts the same thing happened on the last day of the January transfer window, according to the Guardian scout & formers CEO of Monaco (Tor something), when Chelsea & Anzhi both activated the clause. Kenwright spent the whole day at Fellaini's apartment convincing him to stay until the end of the season. I doubt he could do it again.

Its bollocks stop taking news stories as gospel felliani won't be going to a team that doesn't win cups put it that way

He's got no fixed fee release clause therefore the story is bollocks chelsea were apparently stepping up interest in January yet no contact made load of rubbish

So he would only join united, Swansea and Wigan?

Don't be daft. Arsenal will challenge for the league next season if they signed him and higuain

Based on what?

There's currently no outside pressure to pay down debt & they've never had any cash reserves during their tenure, so there's no precedent whatsoever to suggest 'hoarding' is the most likely outcome.

IMO, they'll use the tv money to wipe out debt. It's an issue that's got to have dogged the sale of the club - as we know, they're asking top dollar for their shares and wiping out debt might bag them a buyer.

I know one thing: we'll see no spending spree at Everton in the coming years. It's as you were: 'there's your assets in blue shirts - sell them and buy some more'

I haven't Personally watching him once. But Moyes scouted him extensively and said he was a "super player".

That good enough for me as he didn't get too many wrong in the transfer market.

On someone else's point about a defensive midfielder, I'd prefer a strong defensive player like Wanyama in central midfield sitting just in front of the back 4.

That would ease my concerns a little about Martinez' teams shipping too many goals.

well, wouldnt you be happy then?

Hope he goes this season cos i'm sick of him selling himself in the media all the time, its boring now. Plus the fact he been hit and miss this season, his best performance this season was against Man u, but he doesn't seem to be in form for every game for some reason, only when he can be bothered.
