Ferguson Caretaker Manager

Ferguson and Baines seem an odd pair to me.

Two players that were known for not really being into football.

Well theres no question about Ferguson now, since he returned to the club staff under Moyes it's been his life.

I get your point on Baines, tbf I think he just said that he will try pursue passions he couldn't whilst being a PL footballer. I imagine the reality of being away from the club you support day to day is different and probably easier to switch off outside of work from when you're not playing yourself.

Besides I think Baines just idolises Ferguson so probably wants to help him.

The fact that both have gone into coaching possibly puts that myth to bed? You could argue Ferguson is doing it for money I suppose but I doubt that stands up for Baines. He'll be comfortable financially.
Isn't Baines some kind of consultant?

He didn't even seem keen on taking that job.

I believe 100% that Ferguson is passionate about Everton, but he only returned to football after going bankrupt.

Hopefully, it won't last long enough to matter. I just worry about the potential league position if this managerial hunt lasts as long as the others.

I think his job title was development coach which I think means a guy who smooths the transitions between u18 and u23 or between u23 and first team. IMO it was a safe position to start his coaching career with an eye on moving into full time coaching.

As for his opinion, where are you getting that from? Surely the fact that he took the job on at all means he was pretty keen on it!

I get ya.

Honestly mate 3 wins and we're away I reckon.

He had some interview a few years back saying that he might not carry on with football after he retires as a player. People's opinions and circumstances change though so I guess we'll see in a couple years time.

I'd have to go back and look again, but I recall that the club was searching for a role to keep him around, whereas he seemed quite content to move on with his life.

Don't get me wrong, these are two of my three favourite-ever Everton players, but I'm purely concerned with getting points on the board before the situation gets a chance to worsen.

I heard that myself actually.
Really when you think about it every manager we have had since Sam has been worse

Yep, Pretty sad situation we are in, when Sam is seen as one of the better ones.

I do feel had Carlo stayed, we would be fine, and way higher in the league, but he didnt and we are not.

With not really knowing the dynamics behind the scenes it’ll be interesting to see what changes big Dunc makes on Saturday.
Obviously we’re all expecting high energy and work rate but does he completely change formation too, does he drop Rondon and give more opportunities to youngsters etc
If he does these things and we start picking up points then it’s good news of course but pretty embarrassing for all those in charge at the club including RB and his sidekicks.
It’ll also show how little influence Dunc had with the most recent regime.
