Fernandes Non! So who?

I'm still wondering who could do a job for us in that central midfield role. Obviously we need someone with flair, who can possess the ball, can beat players, and create opportunities for others.

No problems then?

I always liked D'Alessandro (don't know if he's still at Zaragoza or not) and of course, Riquelme would work in that position as well although that's one of those "slim to none" chance deals.

Don't need anymore Carsley/Neville types. We need someone with a nose for the goal.

With 12 million to spend(if we really do) there's a whole list of high profile player we can choose from. Cassano, Aimar, Nasri, the list goes on.......... If the club is that ambitious to find a world class midfielder, it won't be that difficult in picking up a suitable target. From then on, whether we can manage to sign him up is another story......................

Yeah, you're right.

I forgot about that minor detail of actually signing a target.

Taken from Wiki about Cassano.

"Antonio Cassano (IPA Italian: [an'toːnio kas'saːno]) (born July 12, 1982 in Bari) is an Italian football player, who is currently on the books of Spanish club side Real Madrid. On August 13th 2007, he was transferred to the Italian Serie A club U.C. Sampdoria on a one-year loan deal. Both teams have agreed to share the cost of his wages. He is an occasional member of the Italian national team, but he was not included into the victorious squad at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. He is a skillful, two-footed forward.

Variously nicknamed Peter Pan, Fantantonio, El Pibe de Bari (a clear reference to Diego Maradona's nickname) and Il Gioiello di Bari Vecchia (the jewel of Old Bari), Cassano has acquired a reputation for petulance that has often attracted more media attention than his ability as a player. He has lent his name to the Italian neologism cassanata, coined by Fabio Capello in November 2002 and subsequently used by journalists to refer to any behaviour incompatible with team spirit in football.[1]"

So, in relation to that article he is the ultimate Gobshite.

Aimar would be quality I have no problem with signing Aimar :D

I retract this statement as Appiah is a viable option, Great hardworking midfielder captain of his country would be an excellent acquisition only problem is the african nation's cup.
