The contract will presumably have all the terms. You would think it should be pretty easy for someone at the PL to review the terms and determine the facts.
Yeah im not sure but i think we signed with him with 19 games of the season remaining, which meant the 'activation' couldnt happen until the following season.

I might be talking out of my arse here like

I reckon Levy saw his arse that we loaned him out before the first payment was triggered and has essentially grassed us in to the league. That man has a very weird and unsettling obsession with us.

Do you think the accounts were not discussed and indeed perused when Everton worked closely with the Premier lge for 2 yrs , even allowing the club to sign players and consult on player contracts ?
Information emerging as a trading year progressed were no doubt discussed but at the end of the day Everton weren’t under an embargo nor indeed had there been any defaults when it came to submitting information nor do I think that there had been any football creditors unpaid or come to that any debts that weren’t under control.

The terms of payments will presumably be outlined clearly in the contract. It should be pretty easy to determine what is owed by Everton and what has been received by Spurs, and how any future payments could arise. If the contract is contingent with certain clauses triggering payments, then the accounting treatment should be relatively clear .

Yeah it was reported that there'd be no payments until he played a certain amount of games, and even if he didn't reach that figure, we'd have to pay a lower price upon him leaving

That could be it actually mate, maybe we haven't put his amortisation cost on the books and PL think we should have.
The rumoured deal was it was free until he played 20 games then 20 mil or something like that.

We have probably through that on the following seasons books or haven't registered it at all as we probably had no intention of reaching the trigger point in the deal.

I think practice is though you have to put the entire potential cost of a transfer onto your books mate.

Take Iwobi, we signed him for 28 mill rising to 35 mill with add ons, we have to put that entire cost £35 mill onto our books in amortisation - regardless if he ever meets the performance triggers in the deal.

If it is that with Dele, be peak Everton.
