Financial Fair Play investigation

For us to receive a points deduction, the FA will need to be ready to back that up in future years with other clubs.

I just don't see them doing so.
Another way of looking at it is that they still lost £121m despite that £123m profit on player trading. Which when you throw in a 30th June deadline for sales...could be interesting.
The sanctions changed the whole financial landscape at Chelsea. For instance the 22/23 season ticket sales which normally would be sold late in the 21/22 season were delayed so in 22/23 there will be the two years gate receipts. Many of the big sponsorship deals were suspended.
One thing that will be interesting is how the various loans were accounted for and also how the very valuable properties owned by RA that were purchased to facilitate the long promised re development are accounted for all this will feature in the 22/23 numbers.
The statement fro Chelsea’s Board suggests that they are quite relaxed about matters of course they are far more in the know but our main shirt deal with 3 ends in 22/23 and the rumours are that a far bigger deal is on the table and also there will be a significant uplift in the commercial numbers

Good post although income from ST sales tends to be deferred revenue in any event. The Commercial bit could be interesting, £50m maybe? Surely it would have greater effect moving forward.

By loans, do you mean write offs by Abramovich? Doesn't impact upon the FFP bottom line. Properties interesting, tell us more- although am fairly sure that Fixed Asset profits and losses excluded from the 3 year calculations. Certainly it'll add depreciation to the losses which in themselves are excluded which is a greater allowance for FFP.

The talk the media wants to go with with points deduction is interesting. Even if there is something technically, based on a transfer as they claim, we brought in 6-7m more than was spent, and didnt spend that much. That means any "transgression", WHILE under the oversight and approval of the league itself, would be something like 1-2 million over allowed spending. Compared with things that Man City and others have done, it would be almost nothing but technically something. You'd have to be really showing your hand to push for points deductions on that instead of a fine or something, even if they decide it has any merit.
I’m thinking the following…..

- 9 points for breaching PL P&S rules
+ 30 points for buying poor quality and for fan sympathy

…that should do the trick.

it would indeed be differed income but remember for around 1/3 of the season we didn’t have any income be it matchday, commercial, merchandising or the like.

For FFP the loans wont be impacted but in accounting terms they will. I haven’t seen the numbers yet but it will be interesting to see if the club have impaired any significant sums in advance. The players bought in the summer and winter windows won’t have added greatly if at all in 22/23 when balanced against players who left or in the case of Jorginho a decent profit. They will impact significantly to the 23/24 numbers

There was a 100% uplift in 22/23 with regard to the shirt sleeve sponsor. It will be interesting to see what Bohley and his team have done re commercial deals I just have the feeling 3s replacement will be paying north of £50 million pa

We look guilty.

378 million losses over the last 3 years of reported accounts and the claim of 170 million loss due to covid is a bit pie in the sky from the club.

Don't think much will happen for a while anyway.
Nothing to do with the 170 millions for covid loses apparently but more to do with one transfer in particular where perhaps we may have inflated the value to get iour accounts over the line...hearsay so not sure if true at all.

Supposedly sold Richarlison for a lot less that what someone at the club wrote down

£170-220m feels a joke in itself. Well some of it anyway, I'll explain.

£82m- A bit high but okay then.
The unamortised portion of Sigurdsson and his wages- £8-9m in amortisation and wages read £5.2m per year.

He got arrested in July 2021 which encompassed the final year of his deal.

£95.2-96.2m per year. Let's round it and say £95-100m. Taking the starting point though...

The rest feels like nonsense with respect. A further £74.8 or 73.8-123-124.8m in lost profits, losses and or cost savings due to the transfer market, really?? It's speculative tbh.
