Financial Fair Play investigation

Turnover increased to £481.3 million from £434.9 million the previous year despite the sanctions, and a profit of £123 million was made on player trading.

Chelsea are in BIG trouble.

They have 33 players in the current first team squad.
They have 23 players out on loan.

Im gonna guess that they will be just fine.
Another way of looking at it is that they still lost £121m despite that £123m profit on player trading. Which when you throw in a 30th June deadline for sales...could be interesting.

mate, we are 100% responsible for the awful situation that we're in... well, I say we I of course me the clowns that run the club.
I do think we're prime cannon fodder. Not too big that the PL risks losing revenue but big enough that we are a story. The Premierleague are looking to flex their muscles and whether that's because they want some sort of precedence set in their pursuit of Man City, and if they've charged us they set a marker before going after City - who they actually want to punish. Or whether they are trying to look big and tough and prove that they don't need independent regulation who knows. Bottom line is though, we are in this position because we've been run appallingly and we only have ourselves to blame
Of course we are, but guessing (and its complete guesswork) at the worst possible outcome and then stating it with conviction to troll fellow blues who will be praying for the best is poor form for me.

I understand a personality vacuum like damo doing it, others pretending they have just got back from the bull pit and made a killing on orange juice need to pipe down and concentrate on that 50p they've made on crypto.

No one, absolutely no one thinks we are unlucky to be in this situation, if folk are grasping at straws it is because they desperate for those straws to come true in a situation they can't control. There are no precedents and pretty much no info, it's all guesswork and if anyone in this thread turns out to be right it's a complete coincidence.

Only Everton can break the financial rules and still be one of the worst teams in the league. The incompetency that has run the last decade may well be coming home to roost. It's happened to other teams and fan sets and it can happen to us.
Seems to happen with every club Lamps touches...

They should be and if we are found guilty, they should be penalised far more than us because of the amount of breaches.
Yours in one charge and if the numbers are already with the PL it will simply be down to how they are interpreted.

City are doing everything they can to slow matters down and create as many smoke screens as possible.

Yes the clowns that run the club, maybe it's them who should be fined and not the club. Don't forget you can't punish the fans, they have run us into the ground, both Moshiri and Chairman / Board of Directors. They should share the fine out of their own money, I'm sure Bill would, he's the World's biggest Evertonian, get ready to sell you're house Carlin, Bill might need the money. :)

Stinks of piss and Lambert & Butler.

Referring back to the original post...

“In accordance with Premier League Rule W.82.1, the Premier League confirms that it has today referred an alleged breach of the League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules by Everton Football Club to a Commission under Premier League Rule W.3.4,” it said. “The assessment period for which it is alleged that the Club is in breach is the period ending Season 2021/22.”

“The proceedings before the Commission will, in accordance with Premier League Rule W.82, be confidential and heard in private. Under Premier League Rule W.82.2, the Commission’s final award will be published on the Premier League’s website. The League will be making no further comment until that time.”

There is a need for a commission to assess an alleged breach. I presume that means it's suspicious to the PL who should have quite some experience of clubs' financial reporting but they need an independent expert commission to look into it. So I am presuming that the amounts they've taken issue with are either potentially misleading or not huge or a combination of the two otherwise they'd be dismissed and everything would be cool right now or it would be straight to def con 1 (not 5). This could well be not as serious as the doom mongering suggests.

Howevee it's time to batten down the hatches and go into fight mode and defend ourselves robustly and not be pushovers. Don't give these jackals in the PL a sniff of saying that we have done wrong. And then get shut of the board who have found a new way to face this fine old club if ours with its demise.

Seems to be a few in here who would be delighted that their negative guesses come true and the worst happens to the club they support. Most enlightening.
I don’t think there’s many who want this at all. I certainly don’t, but I’m convinced that the useless Richard Heads in charge have been completely negligent in the way they have run our club.

I would not be surprised one iota if they have been brazenly breaking rules all over the place.

I have decided to treat all of this with the mantra of “Expect the worse but hope for the best”.

If we get hammered then I won’t be surprised.

We don’t know that the PL had accepted everything we told them despite what some keep preaching on here.

They probably look at the bottom line and then take the accounts as fine but with both parties understanding that they may well be scrutinized fully. It’s as plain as Pinocchio’s nose we took the urine with the COVID loses to start with.

We are talking about a board who have blamed fans, treated us with disdain and generally put two fingers up to us whilst bouncing from one cock up to the next.

I don’t agree with ‘there is a conspiracy against Everton’ either. This is a forum where everyone is entitled to their views and I respect those that do believe that.

And my view is that we are cursed to be owned by the only Billionaire Accountant who couldn’t count 4 marbles in a jar without getting a second opinion. And we have an even bigger curse to have a Board that are self serving, incompetent and led by that odious slug BK.

Looking at who the guardians of OUR club are I am fully expecting for some really dirty washing to be aired sooner rather than later.

I hope im wrong, I really do. But if I am, I honestly believe that will be more shocking than the fact that those morons have cocked up.

We look guilty.

378 million losses over the last 3 years of reported accounts and the claim of 170 million loss due to covid is a bit pie in the sky from the club.

Don't think much will happen for a while anyway.
