Financial Fair Play investigation

I am surprised figures are that low this year.

We did loose about 30 mill in costs from the wage bill from June 22 onward.

We lost 112 mill, if we didn't sell Richardson and Digne etc in last years accounts.

We will bring in prob the same or bit less for Kean and Gordon - i just dont see making up the difference in saving costs on the difference that much in a year to make us profitable.

I mean we lost £120 (20/21), £112 mill (if we hadn't sold Richarlison and Digne) in 21/22, i just dont see us saving £50 -£60 mill we would need + the Gordon and Kean fees given that trend of cost reduction in the business' - to make us profitable mate. Hope you have the right of it though.

Even if we do claw our way to profitability, it isnt built on anything fundamentally substitutional, its built on asset stripping of our best players and wall papering over the cracks of a rottenly run and massive loss making business in a preputial loss making cycle that need feeding every 12 months.

Yep fair point mate, Moise had a low enough book price, Gordon pure profit.

I have my doubts based on the figures yesterday, but hope you have the right of it.
Esk was projecting a small profit this season after the Gordon sale, feels a big step forward so I’m sceptical, but his projections are usually pretty accurate.

Frustrating thing is, anything around zero this season and with the enormous loss falling off the calculation we are more or less out of the woods when it comes to the p&s calculation, but the PL charge itself might sink all the progress.

In an ideal world we can show this commission our 22/23 projections and show them steps have been taken to rectify our position and that might mitigate. However, if they are of a mind to punish they will see that this is the final opportunity to do so.

Everton can't sue.

Nor can the other clubs.

Oh god. Please mate. Not this again. I cant waste another day trying to

I struggle to see how a business with a wage bill of day 170m loses 100m+. I suppose we have legacy amortisation transfers costs that are high?

And he has been spot on a lot, and is generally quite cautious.

Some of the apocalyptic newspaper stories about being sunk either this season or next because of points deductions are hilarious.

The assumption that there'll be points deductions and or enough of them to sink us next season is off the charts mad.

I suppose telling their readers it's in the balance and in the hands of a commission is less of a story though.

Again, not really. But you cant comprehend what I, or most others on here are trying to say to you.

City argued ( unsuccessfully) in the HC that the PLs arbitration panel wasn’t competent of carrying out arbitration and that irrespective it would show bias. Quite simply they, City, had their backsides kicked.

Of course Everton could try the same route and make the same arguments but it’s highly unlikely that the Courts would rule in Everton’s favour that is if it even got to a hearing. If Everton went down this route it’s probable that other charges will follow as such tactics would almost certainly be viewed as not acting in good faith.

You really need to park the City charges because theirs is a far more complex matter in that many of the charges are far more complex and are hugely subjective. Everton’s charge will be based purely on the numbers presented. Ok there will no doubt be debate around COVID losses but the numbers presented by other clubs will have or will aid the tribunal or come to a view or maybe their is agreement between the PL and Everton over such matters.

Everton are one of the 21 shareholders (20 clubs + the FA) all have signed up to the regulatory process just as all members of the FA have, the EFL clubs have, The NL have, The Rugby Union have , The Rugby league Cricket etc etc have signed up to their governing body processes . No club participating, no individual player is forced into membership and had Everton, City or indeed any club had concerns around the whole process then the time to advocate change isn’t when you are charged.

Matt Hughes our Southern friend from the Daily Fail, just wants to" SEND THEM DOWN" wonder will be be as righteous when Chelsea get their deserved comeuppance. Still think the bar has been set by the sly six and their paltry £3m fines, let's wait and see.
