Financial Fair Play investigation

Some of the apocalyptic newspaper stories about being sunk either this season or next because of points deductions are hilarious.

The assumption that there'll be points deductions and or enough of them to sink us next season is off the charts mad.

I suppose telling their readers it's in the balance and in the hands of a commission is less of a story though.
Why you reading newspaper stories Dave.

Obviously getting the Mina off the books in the summer will make a difference to our outgoings next year, but is our squad after that really getting paid much more than our competitors? we haven't got a massive squad compared to some teams, Surely the most obvious thing is we need to increase incoming funds? This is where the board have repeatedly failed IMO, at no point has EFC under Kenwright's leadership ever signed a deal equivalent to our strength as a brand. We constantly undersell ourselves.
I guess the cheaper Branthwaite takes his spot

But hes arguing why a hypothetical court action wouldnt work.

You are arguing that they cannot take court action.

They are different things. You seem unable to grasp that, and honestly I've wasted long enough trying to explain what the difference is. If you're incapable or understanding, theres not much I can do to help you.

My biggest fear around this is the fact the PL,refs,VAR,written/spoken media have evidenced on so many occasions their contempt towards our football club, this looks like their biggest opportunity yet to drive a mortal dagger into our hearts.😔

Yes I agree you can actually taste the venom and the narrative changing when it comes to us. Can't help feeling it we are found guilty, it won't just be the authorities deciding our fate, Burnley for one will sue...

He's just said you're unlikely to get even a court hearing 🤷‍♂️

Desperately need Mina, Alli, Gomes, Gbamin off the books in the summer - that's about 400k a week for 0 minutes on the football field in return.

That's a Championship squad's salary on four players.
Mina contract up end of season. Gomes will get a multi year offer on a reduced salary from another club and accept it. The other 2 we are stuck with.

Esk was projecting a small profit this season after the Gordon sale, feels a big step forward so I’m sceptical, but his projections are usually pretty accurate.

Frustrating thing is, anything around zero this season and with the enormous loss falling off the calculation we are more or less out of the woods when it comes to the p&s calculation, but the PL charge itself might sink all the progress.

In an ideal world we can show this commission our 22/23 projections and show them steps have been taken to rectify our position and that might mitigate. However, if they are of a mind to punish they will see that this is the final opportunity to do so.

I don't want to be pessimistic mate, i just think its a big step for us to make up the difference between 60 odd million in fees for Gordon and Kean and a loss of 110 million (this year), the business just isnt showing signs of it.

Our loss making is improving, but in a way we are wallpapering over the cracks, the business' isn't improving, we are just selling our biggest assets, while we get incrementally worse on the pitch and in risker positions on it.

I think we are guilty of a breach mate, i did last season to - i think all that matters now is how much we can defend our position and mitigate it now to get the least destructive punishment.

Part of me is beginning to think we intentionally breached the rules.

I wonder if wages come down, and some historic amortisation costs go off?

And we just go round in circles. Where you simultaneously claim we can, and cant launch into legal action.

So like Schrodinger, you are correct when you state all possible options, one of them will be correct.

Coincidentally the one I and everyone else have been saying to you. For hours.

I'm still waiting for you to tell me what CAUSE do we have to sue?
