Financial Fair Play investigation

None of that has anything to do with us losing £100m+ every single year
Ok , you obviously know more about this than I do , they‘re saying 2021/22 season can you explain how we managed to lose £100 mill last season , my memory is we bought Gray for £1.5 mill , Myko and Patterson for at tops £35 mill , sold Digne for £25 mill and Richie for £65 mill . Even with our high wages how come we lost £100 mill+?

But it isn’t in the real world where you can’t just create money out of thin air. If Moshiri kept writing off £100m losses every year continuously he’d eventually run out of money wouldn’t he?

Depends how clever you are.

Abramovich used to have 2 companies (Fordstram and Chelsea FC) linked with Chelsea (Chelsea Limited) and used one to pay the other to then saddle the club with debt to cover cash losses made by the club. That debt totalled £1.5billion and every year he was throwing money at it.

However the club was technically "debt free" as he owned another company he was "loaning" the money from. But as he also owned the loan company...he didn't have to pay it back until he sold Chelsea. Therefore getting all his money back.

Think bottom line is that Moshiri could pump as much as he wanted to monopoly money wise...just as long as he sold it to get it back.

It’s actually laughable and incredibly childish. Speculate about refs and VAR all you want, but with something like this where there’s actual hard factual evidence that we’ve broken the rules, it’s stunning how many people just don’t get it or refuse to be a grown up and look at how badly ran our club is as a business.
The difference between us and Man C or Chelsea will be purely the British way - can we afford what it takes to buy justice ... or should I say ... get away with it.

I'd say not.

Last year’s accounts haven’t been released yet mate, the club are delaying them. It will all be broken down in there. We should see them fairly soon.

Admire your optimism, but with govt regulation on the horizon, this is a perfect opportunity for them to flex their muscles and show how tough they can be, without upsetting one of the “box office” clubs.

A big fine, yes.

They also know that the government value the PL and it's model in selling its 'brand' as a spectacle around the globe. A product that would be weakened if one of the 20 clubs had a points deduction to make up.

I'm not being optimistic. It's realism.

Didn't we loose 300plus million and we were only allowed to lose around £100? I recall there was a COVID extension but surely not allowing an extra 200? Seems like we have massively blown it apart which is very very worrying.
Although gate money is not vast, the ale and pies we consume account for the rest.

It's a bit of both. We're poorly run, obviously, but are we really the only club in the prem breaking FFP? I just can't buy into that. It's the timing. We've suddenly garnered a slither of optimism and suddenly they're out to squash us back down, probably had an emergency meeting to get the legal teams all on the case and find it on specifically us.
I have not checked, but would imagine it’s publicly available information what each PL club’s accounts look like for the purposes of compliance with the rules?

Local BBC news programme gave 8 seconds over to this.

I think that about sums it up.

6 month commission
conclusion - heavy fine

Let's move on.

The inital post infers that it's to do with the period ending 21/22, on our website it only seems to go up to the 20/21 season. Other clubs seem to only go up to the same year, as far as the ones I've checked so far. So it might not be possible for us to outright verify at this point. Will all come out though in time I'd imagine. https://www.evertonfc.com/club/shareholders/statement-of-accounts

Can you explain how? Or is it just because you want it to be?

Here’s our profit and loss over the last 3 years. Got your calculator ready?

No, I get the losses. But what I don’t and can’t find correct is that it’s just us and City. Glazers have put United into a billion pound of debt, they haven’t been in the champs league last season yet go out and buy player after player. Ronaldo and Cavani together must of been on close to a million quid a week????

If no clubs other than us and City are in trouble, then the others are lying, or at least some of them.
