Financial Fair Play investigation

Yeah, it could have been as much as 12 points but Reading have accepted the sanctions and taken the six-point hit.
According to Sky sports it was 12 points.

6 back then and now another 6.

The sanction relates to the club's failure to meet the terms of a business plan agreed following a breach of the profit and sustainability limits in 2021. The initial breach carried a six-point penalty with a further six points suspended until the current campaign, and that has now been enforced.

And then teams of lawyers will be rubbing their hands at the billables they can make arguing otherwise

Fine, and maybe a transfer ban
Lawyers and decent ones have been used by Championship clubs but if the Premier League have the stomach for lengthy wrangling as the Football League seem to then the Governing body often wins in the end.

They battled v Derby for somewhere between 18 months and 2 years. Disputed accounts also lead de facto to varied levels of transfer restrictions.

Not that it'll happen, but a 6 point deduction we could just about handle.

I dont think we'll get points deductions in any case. A transfer embargo at the worst end of the spectrum for us.

The EFL aren't as arsed about 'the product' as the PL.

LOL wut?

The EFL dont mess about Dave.

We dont wanna deal with them, they have proper PL envy.

Reading have just been handed a six-point deduction with immediate effect. This stems back from a 2021 breach of rules as they haven’t got their house in order.

EFL have completely different rules and enforcement compared to the EPL.

They wont be compared because if they were...Man City will be kicked out the league.

From what I’ve seen of The EFL they seem fairly even handed in punishments , I’ll not use the word fair , but it seems they’re happy to punish anyone who breaks their rules regardless of a clubs standing . I don’t see them allowing a club to Go into defacto administration and bs and bluff their way out of it like our less than loveable neighbours for example.

To add to the intrigue, Reading play 24th then travel to 22nd in their final 2 games. Two potential big six pointers now they've been plunged from 7 pts above to just one.
