Financial Fair Play investigation

Well maybe 4 or 5, I'm not certain but we have...

Everton and Man City- charged albeit with different types of offences.

Chelsea- Widely touted that they will need to sell players by the end of June.

Leicester- came near and then you factor in no European Revenue as didn't qualify could they be at risk this or next year.

I would also query albeit post promotion whether Nottingham Forest and Fulham were fine to 2022 but they're perhaps needing more investigation. Would that be the PL or EFL's problem? Moving between two divisions etc.
PL can't penalise a club playing in EFL and vice versa. Any penalty would be waiting the club if/when they return to the league they were penalised in

I think we milked the Covid rules for all it's worth and then some the last couple of years 🤣
My personal opinion is that u are correct and I think EFC will be found guilty. I initially thought that there is no chance of a points deduction but as time goes by I am thinking there maybe a small points deduction. PL may want to make an example of a club to make it appear they are serious about P&S

I don't see a points reduction at all, that would be unprecedented for this situation in my opinion.

Just a side note, regarding "if we're guilty": of course we're guilty, all the evidence shows we are guilty.

It appears that way.... our covid adjustments make us such a massive statistical outlier to start with. The recent release of our accounts, the renewed government led review in PL finance/governance plus further investigation in Russian sourced funding may all have triggered the independent commission.

I don't profess to understand the finances but it is perhaps not beyond the realms of possibility that there may be some wriggle room to avoid the severest sanctions..... especially if a few clubs are facing similar violations for next season. A lot may also depend on the depth of our violation, how rigidly those rules are applied and/or if they're validity is contested. If found guilty, the club could well appeal. Delaying the punishment and possibly allow a number of clubs to drop into the same category. That may either bring the whole show into question or prompt a major cull.

This is utter bs.

Even an evil child murdering scum bag would be able to have jurors removed if it was known they were following the story in the press.

They could even have trials moved to a more even handed location if the local press made having a fair trial all but impossible.

But c@nts like this can prattle on, release private messages into the public domain. Judge us, and now even all but sentence us and we’ll still have to face the commission who will be taking all of this press and social media crap in.

I think our board and owner have massively c@cked everything up and like I’ve said before I’m expecting everything to be bad news simply because it wouldn’t surprise me. I was going with the ‘expect the worse but hope for the best’ as my way of dealing with this sh!t show.

But this witch hunt with all and sundry going public with their opinions and doing a great job of trying to bury us is plain f@cking wrong.

Sorry for the rant.

It's not a court of justice nor a murder case. Even then Media coverage IS allowed, and it is usually only issues of false identification of offenders that limit that. This doesn't apply to the dealings of the commission. We all know it is Everton and Everton's accounts that are being looked at, and they have essentially been the subject of investigation for approximately a year.

Whether or not an individual wishes to mention a phone conversation is his decision alone and is immaterial. He didn't instigate the conversation nor sign any confidentiality agreement. If the club have tried to informally pressurise or even silence him, then just add that to their long list of errors of judgment in this whole episode and their general running of the club. If the board have attempted to control the narrative, as they have with cancelling AGMs, not attending FAB/Shareholder quarterlies and their various media dealings for years, then it is they who are adding fuel to the fire. There was always going to be a massive media scramble..... that doesn't effect what is essentially a bean-counting exercise.

Quite a lot of new pages in the last 12 hours.

For a quick summary this is it.

Appealing to CAS.

Going to the European court of human rights.

Suing the Premier league.

We have turned into RAWK, hang your heads in shame people.

Following on from this post.

It's now a witch hunt.

Anyone who says a points reduction is making it personal apparently.

They are trying to bury us because we as a club voted for FFP rules to be introduced and then signed up to it.

Could it be that your financial concept is slowly destroying you in England?

Any club with an investor. Sheikh, American, whoever...

And the bubble is now so inflated that it bursts?

More and more money for mediocre players, everywhere.

Football doesn't get any better. The players and their advisors now only get more money.
Without doing more.
I believe something like this is inevitable.

Theres some great Evertonians up here ^^^

They haven't got a clue about the specifics of Everton's case and why there's a commission in the first place, but they're happy to accept points deductions either this season or next to sink the club because...erm...Bill Kenwright is a liar and Everton cancel AGMs and some clown who runs a podcast with some other clown says he had late night calls from the club and has therefore thrown his toys out the pram and says we'll be getting a points deduction when there is no precedent to call on for FFP violations.

We dont really need any Kopites really do we?
