Financial Fair Play investigation

Frankly I kind of hope we do get a punishment like this, simply because it would show the world that there is clear and undeniable bias and corruption in the Premier League.

If Everton got punished I think 89 of the 92 clubs in the English pyramid should be outraged and demand justice for at least Chelsea and City, if not others as well. It would be an absolute disgrace for us, who have the least infractions and have had them take place over the least amount of time, as well as being the most recent, whilst Chelsea and City have literally bought league titles and European honours.

Also being totally honest I think this season with a -12 deduction wouldn’t even guarantee us relegation with how bad at least 4 of the other teams are. Would currently put us on -5 points, only 9 points off safety. Not an ideal scenario of course but we’d still probably have enough in us to at least fight it to the end.

Why haven't we been charged by the PL if they want to put a points deduction on the club?

Why has it gone to an independent commission?

It's like a court hearing. The board of the premier league is the Claimant and we are like the Defendant. The Judge(s) are a panel of independent appointees, collectively known as a "commission"

Yeah, basically the PL have said,

"These are the breach(es) as we see them and we think they're deserving of a maximum 12 point deduction".

If the independent panel decide it's 3 points the PL are not going to thrown their hands up and say "hold on, we think it should be 12".

Equally we don't know what else the PL have thought in the scenario of other punishments, as the process and the setup around this is so vague and shrouded.

They could have said;

"these breaches should warrant a punishment of;

Max 12 point deduction

Or

£50m fine

Or

1 year transfer ban"

etc etc

But no one outside of a handful of people has any idea what or how it all goes on.

We won't get 12 points deducted, it'll be less, or suspended, or a fine.

No way on earth they start taking 12 points, otherwise they're making the upcoming city and inevitable Chelsea cases much harder for themselves
Indeed as if they would even think of being harsher with us than City or Chelsea, impossible. I mean it’s not like that sort of thing goes on at the minute VAR or the like.
Wut?

Howdid @davek predict @ETID 'S request?

I don't expect a points deduction but anyone thinking it can't happen because it sets a precedent for Man City down the line, is fooling themselves.

The entire league is based on double standards relative to where you are in the food chain. We saw that yet again last Saturday.

They can dock points off us and ultimately whitewash the charges against City whenever that comes around.

Because they can.

We really are disliked in this league for some reason.
It’s obvious why. We’re the direct rivals of the league’s biggest darling. Really it’s the same reason that they hate City as well, the only difference is City are run by the best in class across the club and legal department.

It’s not exactly a big conspiracy to suggest that Liverpool and United have always been the 2 favoured clubs by the league in terms of decisions, punishments and all that. Every other club only gets in the way of those two in the league’s eyes with Everton and City being the biggest problems of the bunch for different reasons.

12 points maximum punishment? I expect to see Manchester City playing against Skelmersdale in the not too distant future if that’s what gets handed down to us.

Reading between the lines, I expect the Premier League have more likely than not handed the independent commission a list of guidelines and what punishments they can impose for an alleged offence of this nature - with a 12 point deduction being the absolute top tier punishment that the commission can impose if they believe it fits the crime.

Probably just another case of a media hack jumping to the worse case scenario when a range of other punishments are in play, and are far more likely IF we are found guilty.

Aye big enough to make an example of but not important enough to worry about the repercisions

The guidelines are in the premier league handbook. I think the premier league probably gets to request a punishment, or at least respond to our request for a more lenient punishment ( the handbook says we can put forward mitigating factors )
