Financial Fair Play investigation

Not really. Even if they were given a thousand point deduction, they'd end the season on about minus 900 and be relegated to the championship. Then next season they'd start on zero points in that league the same as everyone else. You don't carry points over (positive or negative) to the next season so a hundred point deduction would have the same effect as a million point deduction and so on...
I really hope that if we get a 12 point deduction we appeal it and demand a million point deduction instead. Another first for the mighty -million blues

The club is in mourning and they puplish this leaked story out less than 24h from the sad news.
Maybe we should start boycott campaign or something
Tasteless isn't it.
But I suspect thus us just a reporter egging the story for clicks by stating possible intentions rather than an actual intent.

Seen that too , yet as you say doesn't make sense.

Also seen elsewhere it is for one specific signing of a player....doesn't say who tho.

Then I've also seen it's for the culmination of losses over 5 years ( including Covid adjusted losses)

There's a lot of misinformation out there.
If it's over a player then it's got to be James and possibly something to do with wages, nobody seemed to know exactly quite how much he was on and the various quoted sources were give a fairly broad range of numbers. Maybe we were being crafty with the books to pay him a certain wage. This is something City were accused of during the Mancini era.

Possibly
But haven't a clue tbh.

Those saying they want to deduct points to get us out the way... Villa and Newcastle have bounced back into much stronger sides than when they went down. Leicester look like they will be absolutely sound to get promoted too. Going down would be awful but it's not a death sentence. 12 points deducted might be fine this year the way some teams have started. Who knows

Anything could happen. What I find interesting though are the implications for future offenders, the precedent it should set and what happens then. If West Ham or Newcastle get charged, would they immediately be penalised? I think the league had a lot to consider and a witch hunt against us is borderline tin foil hat territory. Every fan thinks they are the victim of all evil
Sorry but your opening paragraph is not true. Villa bounced back and only a goal that was legally scored by Sheff Utd that was wrongly deemed not to count stopped them going back down again. Villa's team when they came back up was dire and they got lucky. Since then they have improved but it is a fallacy they were stronger when they came back up. It's similar for Newcastle. Just over a year ago they looked favorites for relegation. Their team was abysmal. Then the money came.

I agree about the 12 pts not automatically relegating us but the issue is where do you see us winning games to make them up? I'd say we have had a very easy fixture list so far but our next two months look very difficult.

Finally, the witch hunt. That's nonsense. Rules are there to be adhered to and if our management have failed to adhere to them, then we should be punished. I expect the same for every club.

The bottom line is there is no witch hunt. Yes, Chelsea and Man City were able to spend, spend , spend a few years ago but the rules allowed it. Today they have been tightened up. About time.
