Financial Fair Play investigation

RS want us gone. RS media already starting to try and influence the outcome. RS tend to get what they want if they cry enough.
Why would the RS want us gone? We haven’t been a threat to them for decades and normally give them nailed on points every season

Other than them having some weirdo fans who would masturbate themselves into oblivion over our misery they would be pretty ambivalent about our status

I seen online it was started from the independent. The Guardian links to the Telegraph. The Guardian contradicts its source material as well which is a second hand whisper.

If you actually go and read the source in the Telegraph which you say is the base source it says

“The Premier League has recommended that Everton face a 12-point deduction in its case against them for breaching profit and sustainability rules, the Telegraph has learnt.”

In fact the telegraph then goes on to contradict its opening statement so you can let the Guardian off 🤦🏻‍♂️

Here’s another example:

Yep and if you go in and read the sky article, and not just screenshot the headline about other papers reporting the 12 point deduction, it points out that it’s a maximum of 12 points if found guilty.

It's a daft number anyway as you get 9 for going into administration.

So not going to happen.

Here's where we are:

no one outside the PL and EFC knows what's happening...

MESSAGE ENDS.

I'd be gobsmacked if that's the case Dave. There will be small armies of admin and legal staff involved in all of this. You can bet at least one of them has had a free lunch the way these journalists are circling.

It's a preposterous story from a preposterous football reporting team at the Telegraph who have form for preposterous reports concerning Everton's FFP situation.

If you forget what happened from about 10.30 am yesterday and reset to before then that's where we are right now: zero clue about what the PL are pushing for and zero clue about how the evidence is being received off either side.

The source is key: the Telegraph. They've constantly jumped out with flyers on this story and they always get it wrong.

The other press stories were repeating the Telegraph story because they want a bit of the click action.

No one knows anything outside EFC and the PL.

there are odd occasions that this does happen, on cases where it is on the cusp of a sentence of imprisonment or not, the defence can ask for a direction as to the likely sentence if a guilty plea is entered (without prejudice), the prosecution then opine as to what kind of sentence they would submit for, and the judge can do likewise and give a direction as to how likely a gaol sentence may be. Granted these are quite rare but I witnesses one when I was observing for my studies. If the Judge gives a direction for non custodial a guilty plea is more likely to be entered and everyone is 'happy'.
A guilty plea obviates the need for a trial, therefore it is a matter for the arbitrator to decide on consequences for the defendant.

S/he may at this stage ask the complainant for a view on consequences.

I have never seen this happen before there is a clear guilty determination, verdict or a guilty plea.

Exactly
but that doesn’t sell papers/get clicks so better come up with some sensationalism

It’s the same with transfers, every season Kane was linked to leave spurs for example because he’s a good player, high in demand and England captain so it gets clicks. He finally left yet the papers were still talking about it being Man United or even staying at spurs before he flew to bavaria!

It is being reported beyond the headline as 12 points only, as demonstrated below. There are mixed reports 12 points and up to 12 points. Not disputing that.

The main indisputable point, is that MSM is absolutely riddled with false narratives and outright lies. And the Telegraph source is almost certainly a lie. They “learnt” from who?

And the actual article that screen shot is linked to says the below, matching the headline, without any other commentary on up 12 points:

“The Premier League has recommended Everton face a 12-point deduction in its case against them for breaching profit and sustainability rules, the Telegraph has learned.“

Yes, thats a good point. The wording in the original article doesn’t say it will be 12 points , just up to 12.

This 12 point reduction story is complete and utter codswallop started by a very unreliable tabloid and then copied, repeated and regurgitated. Simple common sense tells you that it would be illegal for the PL to interfere/influence an ongoing 'independent' investigation and doing so would leave them open for legal action. Even if they had been idiotic enough to do that, they definitely would not be telling news media about it.

Unless a story comes from someone very reliable, take it with a pinch of salt and use discernment with everything.

Makes my P boil modern day journalism.
It's all about the likes and clicks nowadays.

Go away put a bit of effort at least in the BS you've just published, instead of copy and paste 🥱

Just pay them off like a normal club
Them realising we are considering this:

I'm in no way shape or form backing the credentials of the journalists involved Dave. And I believe a 12 point deduction would be excessive.

There's no possible way that statement can be true through (and I'm not even talking about the independent party involved as the 'middle man'.)

As an aside, the worry is, have we been duplicitous? And if so are they gonna take great umbrage at that and come down heavy? The administration argument ( only 9pts deduction) might not wash, it could be argued that that's like saying you shouldn't go to jail for swindling thousands, because you wouldn't if it was a debt you couldn't pay.

Be interesting to see if they are keen to take the stance of 'not punishing the fans' like they did with the scab 6 though.
