Financial Fair Play investigation

TBH, I think that sort of reaction to the Telegraph article is a no-brainer anyway: no one with half a brain cell expects a 12 point deduction or that one is even being asked for.

But I think I detect from the sources you mention and the one I posted yesterday from a FAB member something more: a belief that sense will prevail here.

Imho the message is the PL are expecting a punishment of anything up to 12 points and it has been sensationalised from there.

If the PL have been signing off our accounts as reported then there needs to be a hidden smoking gun that no one was aware of to push for the maximum. As they were signing off on what we could and couldn't spend they could have said no you are going to be in breach and we'll push for a 12 point deduction. At that stage we could have punted Pickford, not brought in Onana etc. I know ultimately it is our responsibility but if you work with the authorities you expect some leeway.

Is the BBC the only place on the planet that hasn’t even touched the “story” at all? Might be wrong but can’t see it anywhere. Page after page of BK tributes and anecdotes though. Either they are steering clear of made up tosh, or for once they have chosen to exercise some decency.
By publishing this report, if it is true, then the PL AND the publishers could be in contempt under the Contempt of Court Act 1981.

If false, the PL has a case for libel against every media source that published it.

1. If the Premier League consider that a 12 point deduction is merited and they do not get it, does it not then mean that they are wholly unsuited to govern the game as they appear clearly unable to determine whether there has been a breach and if there was a breach, to act proportionately.
2. The views of the Bobble are irrelevant as they may represent the views of Everton employees but it is an independent commission that is determining the issue and there are no precedents.
3. Somebody has disclosed or a journalist has made up the 12 points issue. If it is coming from the Premier League side the most relevant question is why they have done so. It would be extremely surprising for that to come from the Everton side. The only logical explanation is that the Premier League want to appear tough and have done everything they can to avoid themselves then be subject to litigation. This however takes us full circle to the independent regulator issue and the point I make above at 1.

I find it hard to believe the league would be stupid enough to leak this- unless they wanted an excuse to drop the charges. If it was leaked it works in our favor

We ALL know that the "leaks" came from Everton don't you?
Why would we do that? Prenno can't do anything without having his hand held and a page full of detailed instructions, he is pathetic at the best of times and Bill isn't there anymore to give him direction.
