Well that hearing ended quickly. Listen, we know they hate Everton enough to try and pull some stuff....but....

I still think this is the league trying to just get Burnley and Leeds off of their back and shut them up. They worked closely with Everton and said a couple years ago everything was good. Then the terrible trio threatened and accused greater action. So they said "We will have an independent commission decide on it, its in their hands so you cant blame us". Then they said "We WANT to give them a super big points deduction, thats what we would do. But its the independent commission that decides, so if they dont you have nothing to complain about" It seems to be all bluster to just put themselves in a position above reproach for the whining clubs. Its like the guy who says "Oh yeah, I had your back and totally would have knocked him out if they didnt hold me back".

I won't be losing any sleep over this, and I'm a massive worrier where Everton are concerned.

I think we may mutually agree to something that looks large in monetary terms, but in football terms would pay Doucoures salary for 6 months. Admit mistakes were made in interpreting the rules but no deliberate attempts to subvert them were made. PL publically comment that we have been open and transparent throughout the process etc etc etc, sporting performance was not affected etc etc. PR of both sides is paramount, and the PL as much as anyone need it to be firmly “case closed”.

I think you are misreading this mate.

The ONLY way Leeds & Burnley go quietly is if the club is acquitted of the charge.
No basis for their prospective claims.

If there's a guilty as charged verdict then that opens the door for their compensation claims. Otherwise they have nothing.

if we had committed serious fraud I suspect that the police and/or tax authorities would be investigating us not the clowns at the EPL
